Game Thread | Game #47 | Warriors @ Cavs | Jan. 20, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dammit man I really wanna see the Cavs play and BEAT a good team that's healthy.

By my eye, the last healthy solid team the Cavs beat was Dallas over a month ago.

And that makes sense. That's probably the last game I said to myself "the Cavs played really well."

New Orleans was missing a bunch of top guys. Phoenix was too.

It's got me worried.
You don't think the Cavs played well the other night in Memphis? How long have you been watching basketball?

That was easily one of their 5 best games of the year, and probably in the top 3.

GSW has not beaten a .500+ team on the road this season.

Gotta pound them inside on both ends.

Luckily for GS, the Cavs have come to the rescue. Unfortunately, I don't expect this game to go well.

You did this last year. Everytime I'd post about how the Cavs were headed for the play-in, you'd auto respond that I knew nothing about basketball. You and Waitersfan4lyfe or whatever his name was.

How'd that work out for you?

Moral victory season was last year. Welcome to a season with expectations.

I assume mitchelle will sit... and honestly Id sit our starters tomorrows game is much more important.

I mean they did just lose to the Grizzlies by a single point and that’s with a 5 second violation and a non drawn up play at the end in the last 30 seconds of the game…

Outside of the actual W and the L I would say they played really well on the road against a healthy, high caliber, scorching hot grizzlies team—- and did so without their best player.
According to 90% of the fans on this site this is absolutely the wrong take to have about their play recently and especially that game.

So you don't think they played well the other night in Memphis. Got it.

And your recollection of last year is off. When they were on pace to win 55 games, I was posting how this wasn't likely to last, given the history of how often teams make colossal one year jumps like that. But yes, I am a glass half full guy. It seems a more pleasant way to go through life.

Scrubs destroy us from 3 man and Golden State teaches their scrubs to shoot 3s. It's turning into a law of physics at this point.

Is Draymond playing? He always comes for the throat even though only Kevin is left. They year they tanked when Curry was hurt all year they gave it everything to beat the Cavs.

Draymond is out, along with Steph, Klay, Wiggins and a few others are questionable

Cavs play Milwaukee tomorrow so hopefully the starters don't have to play a lot of minutes. But my experience is even when NBA teams field their second units those guys play over their heads. No pressure, they get a lot of minutes and don't worry about getting yanked for one mistake or having to impress in a short stint, so they play better than expected.

I'm not expecting a cakewalk tonight. Allen and Mobley should control the paint. The W's are missing 76 points, 18 rebounds, and 18 assists, not to mention about 45 years of experience, but fatigue from a back-to-back and five games in eight days won't be a factor because nobody who will be playing tonight has been seeing a lot of minutes other than Poole.

They need to watch out for Anthony Lamb, a 6'6" third year player who is shooting 47.4% on 3's in January. He had a 26-point, 8-rebound game earlier this month, but it was against Orlando.
