Do Not Sell My Personal Information
OT question…..Myles Turner of the Pacers just came out publicly and said he thinks the Lakers should trade their two first round draft picks for him! How does he get away with saying that? Had an owner or GM had said that they would have been fined and had draft picks taken away!

He just wants out. Man, Indy is so weird. They have tried to trade Myles for years What do they want? 2 unportected first rounders? Seems like a lot for a guy all of us know is pretty good, but not a 1st 2nd or 3rd option

Three answers to that:

1) the CBA anti-tampering provisions as written apply only to teams/franchises;

2) Only somebody who is not a party to a contract can tamper with it. So just as a team is allowed to discuss trade possibilities about their own players under contract, so to are those players allowed to discuss it as well. The only thing the CBA expressly prohibits in that regard is a player making a public demand to be traded;

3) Players can't actually sign/trade for other players - only other teams/franchises can do that, which is why 1) is the way it is. Players can dream/hope to play somewhere, but it actually takes a franchise to make that happen.

But I thought 3 years ago when Davis was still with the Pels the NBA “slapped” LBJ on the wrist for talking about the Lakers trading for him?

Nope. The CBA doesn't let them do anything to a player, which actually makes sense. The Commissioner may grumble, but that's it.

Now, if the team tries to use a player as an intermediary to get around the tampering rules, then the team itself can get nailed for what the player is doing. But the actual player can't get nailed because they are not considered a representative/agent of the team able to act in the capacity of player acquisition.

Okay!!!! So I hope Garland and Mitchell start talking to some top tier SFs to ask for a trade to Cleveland…..LMFAO!!!

And this is the bullshit I’m talking about!! The 76ers were found guilty of having “early discussions” with PJ Tucker (tampering) and what was their punishment? A loss of two second round picks! Complete bullshit! So tampering isn’t serious??? Second round picks that probably wouldn’t even make the 76er roster.

Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player.

It’s all bullshit. Free Agent deals are announced within a few hours of midnight when the window opens. Clearly there are discussions going on surreptitiously.

I'm going to watch the replay of us beating the Knicks tonight at 8pm on Bally Sports.
Certainly better than watching the misery show, aka the Browns.

You got 3 guys who can get you a bucket now: Spyda, Wade, Love. Stop dicking around. Feed THOSE guys.
For once, JBB did what I suggested! And look what happened - a huge comeback and big win! He should listen to me more OFTEN!
