Game Thread | Game #70 | Cavs @ Hornets | March 12, 2023 | 5:00 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One of many great plays in the 4th quarter.

Look dude the Cavs aren't contenders by any stretch but the Nuggets just lost to the Spurs.

So yes, legitimate good teams lose to lottery teams. And often.

Stop being this guy.
Sorry - have to deal with Cleveland sports via sarcasm. But I do stand behind the “dont blame the refs” thing

Not going to read through 27 pages, but this was a good win regardless, You go from playing Boston and Miami, to playing Charlotte, from watching the game on TV, there was no energy in that building from the fans, even watching Mitchell for a stretch in the 4 quarter seems like he had no interest until he decided to turn it on…….Kudos to the Bench for bringing the energy and not letting the starter down , when they clearly was walking through this game….

Another soul crushing come from behind road victory. Looks like that Dean-hating coach will be with the Cavaliers for at least another week.

How about we just leave him there and let him play for the Hornets and see how that turns out?

A win is a win, but let’s not pretend this was good in any other way. Charlotte is terrible, was missing a bunch of rotation players, and was on the second of a back to back. We probably lose this game if they don’t run out of gas. We are not playing well, but at least we are playing 2 of our stars 39 minutes.

Yeah, we may have been helped by the back-to-back as Charlotte was outscored 33-19 in the 4th. Maybe they ran out of gas, but Austin Carr noticed that the Cavs discovered their defensive weakness in the paint and were exploiting it.

This game should have not even been close as Garland and Mitchell went 2-for-16 on 3's and the Cavs missed 9 free throws. Mobley blew an uncontested layup and Lopez gave away two points on a careless inbound pass that was stolen under the rim. This should have been a15-point win at least, but the important thing is the Cavs got stops in crunch time and Mitchell hit a couple of floaters along with Garland getting to the foul line.

The first half was ugly as the Cavs were 4-for-17 from deep and were outscored 16-0 on fast breaks. The Cavs' defense was much better in the second half as the Hornets had 59 points in the first half and 49 in the second, and that was only because Rozier was hitting some amazing 3's. He ended up with 27 points but had 8 turnovers.

Loved to see the Cavs step up in crunch time on the road. It was 107-106 with 2:40 to go and anybody's game, and the Cavs pulled it out. Four points by Mitchell, three by Garland and they held the Hornets to two free throws. Great closeout!

LeVert has been playing well lately with his defense and the last 2 games his shots are falling. I hope we can continue to utilize him from the top with Mobley screening or at the FT line. This offense can have more potential when having Garland and Donovan off the ball. He’s your JYD tonight.

Evan had to be tired in the 4th but played great defense, got some boards, and got to the rim for key buckets. He had some trouble with his foul shooting (6-for-11) which made for more drama at the end and he blew an uncontested layup, but it was a great effort and he got a little help from his friends.

He also played the entire second half without fouling after having to sit in the first half after picking up three fairly early.

We really needed this one because the rematch Tuesday will be tough if Oubre is back and Allen is still out.
