Game Thread | Knicks playoff series Game #3 | Cavs @ Knicks | April 21, 2023 | 8:30 ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If we shot 14-33 from deep we would have won by double digits.

The level of bad that our offense was just put so much pressure on our defense pitch a shutout, and they played excellent defensively for the majority of the game.

can’t be understated how hard it is to keep a team at bay over and over to give yourself a chance while your offense, which was not even being defended well…this sure as shit ain’t the bad boy pistons over there defensively. We got, even with a ton of bad offense and going away from scheme stuff that got us such easy looks in gsme 2…we still managed to pretty much produce some quality looks relatively consistently.

We just straight up failed to make them
Boobie, I feel like I've been losing my mind hearing so many people talk about this game tonight. The looks were good early on, but so many bricks. I thought the game was over just looking at that.

I thought we came out of the gate fine. We were getting good looks, very good looks, but couldn’t throw it in the ocean. Instead of staying with it and assuming shots would start falling, we lost our composure and played ugly offense the rest of the way. The lack of composure was disappointing.
I still don’t understand JBB’s substitutions. Other than the core 4 and LeVert, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to who gets playing time. A few weeks ago Ricky, Okoro and Lamar were key players. Now they can’t get off the bench. Before that it was Wade. It looked like he’d given up on Cedi, now he’s riding him. Green couldn’t get minutes at all, now he’s one of our first subs. How is the team, or any individual player, supposed to get any chemistry or consistency with this schizophrenic substitution management?

That's right. Ricky, Okoro and Lamar don't understand what is going on. JBB put them in, one miss, go back to the bench and never more play. All the time, guards chucking the ball as main game system, so centers don't play at all. That's cracy. That's on coach's fault that only has one job... get all players involved. I feel some fear to fail on JBB, that's is why he is tied to the three guards. That's not a team.

Looks like the first team that wins two games in a row is going to win the series.

the next game is 3am on a monday morning for me, why doesnt the NBA think of its Oceania viewers?
not sure it will be worth staying up for. I might mow the grass and Im in the same time zone. It works for Browns games, going to take one for the team here and see as when I watch they tend to lose.

Wow. Cavs got boat-raced. Embarrassing.

Requiring Mitchell to be superhuman 4x out of 7 is a tall order, bc that’s the only way the Cavs win the series.

It is hard for the bench to score when the 3 starting guards are absolutely chucking. 57/80 FGA were DG, Caris and Spider. 7 out of 10 times, they were taking a shot. Woof.
That's because Allen, Mobley, Okoro, Stevens, Rubio, and Cedi are crappy shooters (except Allen and Mobley on dunks). And Robinson was not permitting many dunks.

I turned it off end of the 3rd quarter. I'll say one thing, the only guy who I thought was up for the moment was LeVert. This was probably one of the worst games I've ever seen the Cavs play and I'm old enough to remember when they played at the Cleveland Arena.

JA has no offensive game! He is strictly a lob, catch and dunk player! He is soft and light in the ass like Mobley. He can be bumped off his spot with the slightest contact!
He can’t even get rebounds because he allows people to move him far under the rim too easily. Then when he even goes to the FT line he misses freebies! JA needs to be shopped this summer for a consistent shooting 3 and D wing player! You can’t have two Charmin soft (JA and Mobley) big men on your front line and expect to win!
I think part of it is that Robinson is not involved in the Knicks' offense at all, so he can just hang out in the low post until the shot is about to be taken and then crash the glass. It's not like they put him on the 3-point line or even at the elbows. It's easier to get in position for an offensive rebound if you don't have to worry about handling the ball.

Allen frequently shades toward the ball side to be in position to pick up the dribbler if he beats his man. That gives Robinson an easier path to an offensive rebound than he would have if Allen just stuck to him. But Allen roams around, helping out as needed.

if the Cavs do this, they are the dumbest MFs on the planet. plus, it's going to cost far more than JA to get one of these theoretical 3 and D wings, at least the type that would make sense trading JA to get.

Robinson lowkey is like Kevon Looney against the Kings -- no need to do anything offensively at all.

The things that actually make the bigs unique is also the reason why the Cavs have the defensive weaknesses they do. A more solidified defensive wing presence would fix that.
