Game Thread | Knicks playoff series Game #3 | Cavs @ Knicks | April 21, 2023 | 8:30 ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
has Allen ever displayed that he WANTS the ball or ever made aggressive moves to get it?

He’s not an aggressive offensive player. He can finish lobs when not in traffic, but that’s totally different than “get him the ball.”
Has it ever been tried?

First 20-point loss of the season. The Cavs were obviously tight with the whole MSG thing and the celebrities. They couldn't hit a shot in the first half, even missing free throws. They finished the game at 21% on 3's and 59% at the foul line. They were really tight.

Garland may have had the worst game of his career at 4-for-21 with 3 assists and 3 turnovers. The Cavs were outscored 28-8 on points off turnovers which matches the margin of defeat exactly.

I was hoping they would stop shooting 3's in the first half but the Knicks packed the paint and Robinson is tough to shoot over so the Cavs had to take those 3's. Cedi has made just one of his last nine 3's.

Hopefully with this experience out of the way the environment won't be so intimidating the next game and the Cavs can hit some shots in the first half.

Robinson was pushing Allen around and had five offensive boards. He outplayed Allen, who was held to six points and (incredibly) only five rebounds. Mobley had 10 and 10 and was largely responsible for Randle going 3-for-15 from the field.

Had the Cavs gone 14-for-33 from deep they would have had 21 more points and this game comes down to the last shot. They started to hit a few in the second half, going 5-for-14, an improvement over the 2-for-19 they had at halftime. But they were too nervous to shoot until settling down a little in the second half.

I can't believe people are blaming the coach when our point guard went 4-21 with 3 assists and our entire
bench combined to make ONE basket. One.
Not disagreeing at all with your assessment, but the bench had 3 buckets, 2 by Okoro and one in garbage time by RoLo over a guy a foot shorter (and he still took a tough shot when he had a dunk )

Things that are not JBB’s fault:

Guys shooting like shit
Guards refusing to involve their bigs

Turnovers

Things that ARE JBBs fault:

Not having an offense 85 games into the season.

Sending what feels like 1 double team at Jalen Brunson all series

Changing the starting lineup after an insane win

The defensive scheme of collapsing on all drives as if you are unaware that Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley are simply not going to get scored on 1 on 1 that often.

Horrible rotations

Fatigue from playing your starters into the ground

Punishing guys like Wade for sucking but letting Garland go 2/18 and playing him all game.

Not having the balls to yell at your players or hold starters accountable AT ALL.

Hell of a time to play like this. Here's to the next one.

Fedor kept alluding to the fact that some people in the FO were hoping and wanting the Nets to get the fifth as they were dropping post Irving trade. It looks like they either weren't as confident in the team as they should have been, or they knew something we didn't. Ain't no rational reason that we aren't better than this Knicks team talent wise.

Cleveland Cavaliers hope to get Brooklyn Nets in the playoffs (usatoday.com)

This is really difficult to watch . I’ll tell you one thing..the Cavs had better get their act together like right now or they’re about to get run out of the arena

And this is exactly what happened

I switched to Denver-Minnesota to watch some attractive well played basketball

I'll tell you why players shooting like shit is on JBB. Our 3 point shooting from everyone on the road all season has been abysmal. Part of the reason for this is we rarely run good plays to get shooters wide open shots. Danny Green should be moving around and there should be off ball screens to get him open. And then a guy like Mitchell, Garland or Caris should be finding him. But we do that once a season and probably by luck. We make the game harder than it should be because the team doesn't have direction outside of ISO and figure it out.

It is hard for the bench to score when the 3 starting guards are absolutely chucking.

57/80 FGA were DG, Caris and Spider. 7 out of 10 times, they were taking a shot. Woof.

I’m not exactly driving the Okoro bandwagon here but he needs to play more. I don’t get why you have invested 3 years in playing this guy, only to start panic shuffling the lineup two games in to a series.

We realistically can’t go very far if Okoro can only give us 10-12 minutes a game. Our bench is too old and too unathletic to try to figure out where another 8-10 minutes come from.

Disappointing effort for our first national TV game with the country watching.
