Get Excited Somewhere Else: John Dorsey

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean has there really ever been a GM in history dealt a better chest of assets and cap situation than Dorsey?

Is it really too high of a standard to expect a .500 season in year 2 when given the vest hand a GM has ever seen from an asset/cap perspective?

Well.

We will be .500?

Kind of an odd time to take a victory lap on Chad Thomas when he looks to be developing and contributing week-to-week.

He’s the only pass rusher on this roster that’s worth a damn (sans Garrett).

He's not at all good. He's one of the worst run defending edge rushers in the NFL and he is a marginal pass rusher at best.

Considering the talent that was there when they drafted him, he's a huge disappointment. He's being outperformed by Bryan Cox Jr and Porter Gustin, not to mention Olivier Vernon when he's healthy.

Dorsey really needed to hit on the QB and coach and he missed on both.

I think his decisions ultimately sends guys like Kareem Hunt packing.

Why would he want to be Cleveland next year?

Does anyone see this team improving next season? I see them losing more talent than they acquire. The current roster has quit.

U understand Hunt is a restricted free agent next year??

Were Chad Thomas and Antionio Callaway "top 100 picks"? Callaway was a 4th rounder I thought. I have no idea what Thomas was, but he seems to be developing into a rotational guy anyway.

Also what an asinine argument, he didn’t pass on those players and draft Coleman. You can literally see in your very post Coleman was selected after all of them. But let’s just ignore the assets acquired in the trade down because why not
Lol they originally had the 2nd pick in the draft, traded down to the 8th pick, then 15th. The end result was Corey Colemon, Deshone Kizer, and Shon Colemon. And a billion other assets that he would have never done anything meaningful with. Sashi was definitely out of his element and only marginally better than Ray Farmer.

I would be terrified if we all saw his vision come to fruition.

Sashi’s draft evaluation process:

Boy is that an indictment.

He not only missed on those but fucking tore a muscle in the whiff. Wretched drafting.

That was not the end result. Just like Binkster this is a misleading post leaving out most of the facts to defend a GM that you’ll both probably turn on in 2 years and post the same dart image gif of

Chat Thomas was a 3rd pick. Most of you around here act like he was a first rounder. A rotational guy in the 3rd round isn’t bad at all. Corbett was a way bigger miss than thomas was. No gm is going to get every pick right. Dorsey took over a completely depleted talent football team and has gathered the talent necessary to be a playoff team and he obviously isn’t done building this team. Firing Dorsey would be the most idiotic thing the browns could do

We aren't a playoff team though....

I look at how Buffalo and Baltimore have built around their QBs and then look at ours and I’m disappointed

OBJ was a luxury acquisition but it cost us Zeitler and Jabrill who would be helping this team. Vernon has been good but can’t stay healthy

Dorsey has failed to upgrade the offensive line and got rid of our defensive line depth (Ogbah, Avery)

He’s just as responsible for the failure of this season as Kitchens which is also on Dorsey because he botched the coaching search in hindsight

I don't necessarily agree with Buffalo, their offense is extremely regular due in large part to Allen- the Browns have scored more points.

Their success is directly tied to a kick ass defense. #2 in points allowed and #3 in yards allowed

If anything, your post is misleading, because the Browns traded down in that draft so his post about passing on all of that elite talent to draft Coleman was accurate.

I have a hard time railing on Dorsey because I believe this team has the talent to be 10-6 right the fuck now, like this year. But the coach was his hire too so he deserves blame there.
