Get Excited Somewhere Else: John Dorsey

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Who?

Dude picked a bad coach this past offseason. OBJ has been underwhelming.

In those top 100 picks, Corbett is the only real failure.

The Browns two seasons ago were arguably the worst NFL team of all time.

The piling on Dorsey screams classic miserable Cleveland fan to me.
I won't speak for everyone but my worst fear with him coming in was the fact that he would fast track us to mediocrity to buy himself a 4 year window. That appears to be the case.

Chad Thomas, Antonio Calloway (sorry 105) would both like to have a word with you. I put the blame on Freddie here, but only 2 of Dorsey's 16 picks look to be above average starters with maybe 2-3 more questions. I leave them as questions, because have a tendency to see some hope and then throw talent away.

To me it’s obvious that Sashi had a long term plan that he wasn’t given the time to see through

Dorsey just kind of goes day by day without a bigger picture plan and this type of short term thinking resulted in Haslam eating it up even though it’s doomed us for eternity

Jesus Christ. You people are bitching about Dorsey yet, we are pissed about missing the playoffs. You people do realize that just 2 years ago we were 0-16. He has overhauled this roster to the point we are mad about not making the playoffs. Let that sink in a little bit. You can’t make a team a super bowl team in 1 offseason especially with inheriting a 0-16 team. Some of you had unrealistic expectations this year and now want to fire the GM bc the team didn’t live up to your unrealistic expectations. It’s mind boggling. Most years we would have been happy as hell just to get to 500

Greedy hasn't been great either.

And...you know...jury is still kind of out on Baker and Ward not being one hit wonders.

It's not about expecting them to be a playoff team in Dorsey's second year or being a miserable cleveland fan.

It's about Dorsey shooting himself in the foot over and over again. He deserves as much criticism as Baker and Freddie for this team being a dumpster fire.

Two years removed from 0-16 and the organization still lacks discipline and any form of culture to get through rough stretches. This shit isn't sustainable and Dorsey must fix it

Not gonna participate in piling on Dorsey, we've played a lot of good, close games, if we had better quality of coaching in key situations, we'd have a better record. The talent is there, thanks to Dorsey. He just needs to accept failure on his coaching search and get it 100% the next one.

Kind of an odd time to take a victory lap on Chad Thomas when he looks to be developing and contributing week-to-week.

He’s the only pass rusher on this roster that’s worth a damn (sans Garrett).

I tend to agree. I think Dorsey has earned some criticism but, this roster was predicted by most to be a playoff contender and go 9-7, 10-6, and better. Coaching has held it back big time and being real that part is on Dorsey because he hired this shithead in one of the most bizarre coaching searches I’ve seen.

I’m still baffled at how much the Browns have underperformed though. Dorsey’s regime may come down to the Baker pick. Many of us hated that pick. In 2018 we gladly ate crow and thought it was finally over. This year the dude is straight ass. Just a terrible quarterback. Worse than his doubters thought he’d be. Who the real Baker is may decide what happens to Dorsey.

Was Sashi’s long-term plan designed to pass on 6 All-Pro and/or Pro Bowl players in the first 8 picks in order to land future star, Corey Coleman? That really set this franchise up long-term.

Would’ve been short-sighted to add any talent to this team in the interim, IMO.

Lmao as if this couldn’t be so easily done for Dorsey and his picks

Newsflash: GMs miss. Dorsey knows all about misses. They’re starting to very rapidly stack up. Usually you need to wait until the next GM to start jettisoning very recent 2nd-4th round picks, but Dorsey has been active on that front

Also what an asinine argument, he didn’t pass on those players and draft Coleman. You can literally see in your very post Coleman was selected after all of them. But let’s just ignore the assets acquired in the trade down because why not

Imagine if Michael Thomas was that pick instead.

Sigh.

People were expecting this elite GM that was going to set the Browns up for a decade of dominance. He's improved the QB room (at minimum we're in QB purgatory which isn't ideal but better than the last 15+ years), the WR unit, RBs (who cares it's 2019) and maybe the CB room while weakening just about every group.

How is it so hard to accept that he's only done a decent at best job and that deserves criticism?

I don't think he should be fired but he has one one more year left of the 0-16 free pass that he seems to be granted on here regularly. The Browns had more talent than 0-16 but that's not an argument I'm going to rehash for the 132nd time.
