Re: Homeland Security are dummies.
Stop complaining. Right now, there are hundreds of groups of "people" who if they could assemble this thing right now, they would detonate a nuclear bomb on US soil. Right now. As you're reading this post, if they could, you'd be vaporized by heat and then a shockwave and then radiation. A flash of light, and BOOM it's over. You'd be able to see this thing coming at you, and then it's over. That's what they want to do to us.
Stop complaining about these guys. You really think the govt. is dumb enough to give reports that they foiled a bomb thread of mass proportions? That would put fear into Americans, which is what they don't want.
This is the problem with the US today. When Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, a similar number of people died. But we had cut off supply lines to them, and they attacked a naval base, so it was a strategic war move. (which didn't work). These guys, on 9/11, flew OUR planes into OUR buildings and OUR people died on OUR soil. They had little reason to do this, and they did it in a cowardly way. They attacked us. Not our war-machine, US. You, me, and 300,000,000 other americans. If they could get ahold of 20 nukes, they would kill every single one of us.
This is why we are at war and this is why we are over seas. Trust me, I feel horrible that men and woman are dying, and I'm scared to death about the 20,000 call, since I'll be entering that age range soon enough. (BTW, if any of you have served for the military or have a loved one that has, God Bless You. These people do a job I cannot fathom.) But this has to happen. We have stopped most terriost groups from organizing more attacks. We took down Saddam and we are close to Bin Laden. When we take down Osama, it's nearly over with.
No one supports this. Why? They attacked US. They killed our people. They tried to kill our American spirit, and they failed. So why is there NO support. People blaming 3,000+ lives directly on Bush. What? The truth is, he has probably saved lives and has preserved every day American life.
The most amazing thing I have ever witnessed came a couple of days after the attacks. I used to live in Lincoln, and about 2,000 people gathered at the Memorial. On steps about 2 stories above us, and only by candle light, a presentation was given, along with a banner of everyone who had lost their lives. I remember looking at the list, and that's when I lost it. Nearly 3,000 people. Afterwards, no one wanted to leave. It's dead quiet. All of a sudden, one guy screams "USA USA USA USA" and 2,000 people chanted USA into the night for nearly 10 minutes. I'm getting chills and choking up just thinking about it. In their voices was so much passion, love, and loyalty it was breath taking.
Bush is keeping this country safe. There's a reason we all remember where we were that day. Support HS and support the war effort. Hypocrits are everywhere. When they are being searched they complain, and then when Bush stops this and a bomb goes off, they would complain.
Don't live in fear all the time, just trust them and let it ride. One of the coolest quotes I've ever heard was actually from my German teacher. After all the bomb threats had surfaced about the NFL stadiums (He is a season ticket holder for the Browns) he said "I trust security. And if they do bomb it , ya know what, THANKS, I'm one step closer to the spirit in the sky".
I understand this is a little offtopic and many people won't read it because of it's length, but it's because I feel very strongly for all the people who have lost loved ones during and since 9/11 due to the war. This just rolled out of me please don't slam. I needed to get this off of my chest.
