But why avoid the fact that these "devices" which had been up for weeks were found so late? Don't you think it is a PROBLEM that devices that resemble "IEDs" ( yeah right ) weren't noticed on bridges, schools, etc. for so long? You cannot tell me that is not a problem. Are you telling me that HLS only reacts and doesn't prevent? They dropped the ball and it only makes them look dumb.

I just don't get how homeland security was remotley responsible.
A phone call came in saying there was a suspicious device...the bomb squad responded.
A couple hours later 4 calls came in saying there were 4 other devices.
Up until this point it was local and state officials responding...not HLS. Commisioner Davis(Democrat) and Mayor Menino(Democrat) contacted HLS and said we have a serious situation at which point the Terror Threat was raised and Feds were brought in. Chaos was already under way by the time the feds were involved.

The real pathetic part about it is that the Ad agency tried getting the people responsible for the signs to keep quiet while the whole thing was unfolding. They should be prosecuted too. Bostonians were terrified and 500K of taxpayers dollars were being wasted while they tried to cover it up. They could have diffused the whole situation early on and saved a lot of money and grief.

got people calling for these guys to serve hard time and a member here joking or not calling for the damn chair. Thats not justice at all that cowardice.

And fear is what this government wants our people to have....they tried to build fear and the people of American are so weak minded they bought into it and now it will take decades to fix the mess the republican office made these last 6 years.

What happened in Boston had nothing to do with being republican or democrat. It was an ad agency breaking the law and using incredibly poor judgement...that's it.

But what James said is partly and sadly true...the Bush admin has really dumbed down the American society. It looks like the majority are finally getting a clue. But its a shame it's taken this long for it to happen.

That guy yelling USA would be awesome if it meant something. People wave flags and place bumper stickers to seem more patriotic but not many of them are. A 1776 American would rebel against the President if some of the stuff pulled today was pulled. People today are just for show.

It did. I've never been moved like that before, and it showed the American spirit. That's meant more than nearly anything I've ever been told. It instilled in me a passion for this country that will be in me right to my death bed.

Guys that post was not meant to be so negative and broad. Just support these guys for what they are doing, because there was not a right way to handle this, but we chose the best option, IMO.

Americans as a whole dont believe in anything anymore, they rely on views of others and what others say, people have lost the value of basing views and opinions on morals that you hold at home, America as a whole has been in a downward spiral for a while, someone will come along and fix.

and many people are blinded by such stupid things, look at this Obama situation, people are ready to elect him the way they were ready to elect bush back in 2000, a politican without credentials, without much experience, people are ready to elect him because "hey look!! he is african american, he speaks well, and ummm i dunno" fact is he hasnt passed much legislation and doesnt have much of a track record, anyone who knows jack shit about politics or how the system is run knows that. Its a shame people like Jim Webb cant run for president and win.

Obama could run in 10 years and win and be more qualified, which is a better plan i think. and if he loses, ill wait for all you wild left wingers to shoot out your conspiracy theories as to why he lost.

I agree with James.

The thing that is funny about the whole situation of Obama running or anybody else for that matter is that Bush still has 2 years left. Everyone was screaming that he was doing a great job a few months ago but now people are campagining this early. People from his own party.

I don't know if Obama has what it takes but i do know that he can charm anybody he is talking to much like Clinton could. That is a much needed trait if you wanna be the leader of America. I wish Bush could do that.

I dont know how this topic got so far off but I don't care if the Mayor was an elephant or a donkey. It was an advertisement and a damn good one. I don't think it is right to call it a joke or hoax. Nobody had any idea that this would turn into something like this.
