How Bout dem Cowboys!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Re: Browns New Coordinators

Link?

Did not see that reported anywhere...

As far as him saying that, all I did was watch the presser. It's what he said. I only watched it on TV though.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 1m
Cowboys are discussing hiring former Lions OC Scott Linehan as their play caller, per @Edwerderespn and @mortreport.

Ed Werder ‏@Edwerderespn 21s
From me and @mortreport: Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett considering hiring Scott Linehan to staff. Could be compromise solution as play-caller

The story is even on ESPN.

I meant a link to Garrett saying he was calling plays.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

I meant a link to Garrett saying he was calling plays.

The last two games is all I'm saying, so let's just make sure you know that. Did BC have input? I'm sure he did, but Jason called them the last two games.

Also you said it's just me speculating so I'm pretty much wrong. How about all the times you speculated over the Browns coaching search and if people didn't see what you saw they were pretty much idiots? Double standard bro.

You were proven wrong, and provided no evidence to the contrary.

Lmao. Right. I forgot your the almighty around the sports sections. Anyone who watched the Cowboys can tell you exactly what I said. I watched it in the press conference. The reporter flat out asked him who called the games the last two games because of the scoring, he came right out and said he did.

I know I'm not you, so I'm wrong. You can pick and choose what you want to reply back to when someone proves you wrong on everything else. Because I don't have a link, doesn't mean it wasnt said.

Romo and Garrett even got into when all this went down. I get that you don't follow Dallas so don't act like you know it all about them.

Another thing, why would they change the way they call the plays into Romo if BC was in control on the play calling? Why all of a sudden? But that's just me speculating once again.

Go look it up man. I'm done arguing with someone who doesn't know about a certain team. You know more about other stuff then I do but not this subject.

So we can just agree to disagree on this and stop clogging up this thread over this.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

So....no link?

I've tried to look it up, there is nobody who reported it, which is why I've been repeatedly asking you.

With the lack of coverage on the Cowboys, it's entirely possible nobody reported on it though.

Nope I'm wrong, your right. Like always. Nice job.

This link probably isn't good enough. But everyone seems to know he was calling the plays.

Also Garrett moved Wade Wilson up to help out Callahan. Didn't work obviously. Lol.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

Offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said the new play-calling mechanics for the Cowboys were a “tweak,” but that any communication system is important because things happen so fast in the NFL, it's difficult for one person to keep up.

“Jason and I talk about it. The game goes so fast, I believe any play-caller around the league is always going to rely on your staff,” Callahan said. “You’re going to rely on guys you coach with. Nobody can do it all by themselves. It’s really a benefit to have experience and have knowledge and have guys who understand the game and can see it and can get some quick answers for you.”

Two weeks ago, the Cowboys moved quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson upstairs with Callahan and tight ends coach Wes Phillips down to the sideline and also gave head coach Jason Garrett a handoff in the play relay from Callahan to quarterback Tony Romo.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

I mean, that doesn't mention the playcalling duties at all.

Not at all?

Ok you win. I'm done wasting time with you. If I found the actually presser you would still say I'm wrong.

Re: Browns New Coordinators

The Cowboys offensive coordinator, in his first comments since the loss to the Packers, said a tag was built into the play that was called in the final three minutes of Sunday’s game. If Green Bay’s defense loaded the box to take away the run Callahan called _ and it did _ Romo was given the option to throw to a receiver in man-to-man coverage. That was Miles Austin over the middle.

“It’s not per say an audible,’’ Callahan said. “It’s a different way of throwing a pass in a run structure if that’s built into the call.

“It’s pretty common. It’s a very common theme across the league.’’

Linebacker Clay Matthews came in unblocked on the play and Romo threw a pass that was intercepted by cornerback Sam Shields. Green Bay scored a touchdown a little over a minute later to win the game.

“It more or less falls on me,’’ Callahan said of the play. “I’ve got to structure a better play and a better design and try to eliminate that option for him in those situations.’’

Callahan could have eliminated the option to pass on that play.

“I could have,’’ Callahan said. “I could have simply done that.’’

Why didn’t he?

“It came up so quick, so fast we still had the tag on the play,’’ Callahan said. “We felt it wasn’t the time to take it off. I should have taken it off. I’ll live with that.

“I just would say if we had it to do all over again we’d certainly do it different, but that was the design of the play and we can certainly do better. Certainly I can.’’

Asked if Romo could have taken it upon himself to stay with the run call regardless, Callahan said, “all I can tell you were those are the rules we gave him for the game.’’
