I'm not trying to convince you of anything, I just gave everyone the facts of the situation as they were reported.

They tweaked the way plays are relayed to Romo, but Callahan maintained playcalling. I've given you three links now which all say the exact same thing, you say they said differently in a press conference you can't seem to find despite all the links being available on cowboys.com.

Romo didnt have to throw the pass. The receiver didnt have to angle his route the way he did. the play went through. it was an interception . Cowboys lost get over it. I have.

Cowboys put n a formulaic play calling system and it needs tweaked. All three of them got pass happy at times and they had every reason to.

Cowboys main problem this season was their defense and inability to establish a consistent running game.

These were problems before Callahan arrived and the run game overall was improved as the season went on.

Given the chance multiple times Tuesday, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and Jones didn’t close the door on the possibility, however, that the coordinators’ roles could change in 2014.

Callahan took over the offensive play-calling from Garrett last season. Garrett could decide to resume calling the plays.
Kiffin was in his first season as coordinator in 2013 for the Cowboys, but they have another coach on staff who is more than capable of running the defense in Rod Marinelli.
“We’ll keep looking at what everyone’s roles are and how everything settles down,” Garrett said. “Those guys are under contract, and we feel good about that. We’re always going to try to do things that are in the best interest of our football team, so we’ll keep looking at how we can be better as a staff and what roles everybody is in and what we’re asking them to do. But those guys are really good football coaches.”

Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett has changed the sideline operation for Sunday's game against the New York Giants so that he will have direct contact with quarterback Tony Romo on the field as in previous seasons, according to a league source.

Garrett, however, will continue to have offensive coordinator Bill Callahan call the plays. The change will also provide Garrett greater control of the play-calling as he can more easily make changes before delivering to Romo the call in the huddle.
The Cowboys made the changes during their bye week.
Quarterbacks coach Wade Wilson will be relocated from the sideline to the upstairs coaching booth to assist Callahan in reading coverages. Until now, Callahan called the plays upstairs and relayed them to Wilson on the sideline and he communicated them to Romo. League rules forbid coaches from communicating with players directly from anywhere except the sideline.
With Wilson upstairs, Garrett will now take the call from Callahan and -- presuming he doesn't change it -- tell the quarterback through the the equipment in Romo's helmet.

Garett did put himself in a position to override plays and stay in direct communication with his qb. I would speculate judging by the vast improvement in the run game the first 4 weeks of the arrangement Garrett was more about keeping romo on the right calls.

theres several things to indicate this. the articke from the green bay game itself. Romo was instructed to run the plays by the letter. and you had a prior blow up by demarcus murray that doesnt happen until a guy has already gone to his coaches.

I dont mind Garrett tinkering with Callahans play calling. or trying to keep romo honest. Im more concerned about Monte kiffin and Jones failure to field a defense capable deep enough to handle up tempo football games.

Last season the Cowboys had 5 games with over 100 yards. spread out like the flukes they were.. this season while overall they still only had 500 100 plus games 4 out of last 6 hit that 100+ mark and is definitely a step in the right direction.

so im actually excited about the possibility of a balanced attack next season and Callahan will be a big factor in that.

1. I'm over the loss. Who said I wasn't?
2. I've flat out said I can't link it. I know what I saw and heard. It is what it is.
3. My biggest concern is the defense. We need a pass rush.
4. You do know that if Garrett gets his way, BC isn't calling the plays next season right? Hell I even linked that one.
5. I'm still praying that Jerry meddles less and less.
6. BC improved the running game by improving the O-Line. Not by the play calls.

What you read or heard was pure specualtion about Garrett showing up on the sideline with a headset to his coach. you may have heard Garrett actually call the plays.. well after the bye week he was. after Callahan sent them down.

Its not rocket science. Oc sees the is watching the field from the box and calls the plays. coach sends play to qb . qb reads defense and runs as is or calls option.
