Hey at least we didn't blow it as bad as the Cubs.
Yet, we have zero chance of winning the title the way this team is structured. That isn’t changing next year or the year after. Astros/Yankees/Dodgers are all in position for the foreseeable future. Sell our best pieces that won’t be apart of the team in 3 years and let’s retool this team. That’s the nature of the beast for the Indians and teams like us in small markets with little fan support/attendance.This team is in position to win 90+ games and compete for the Central again next season but, sure, blow it up for no reason. Makes sense!
So says you, the guy who forms his opinions listening to Colin Cowherd.Yet, we have zero chance of winning the title the way this team is structured. That isn’t changing next year or the year after. I chalk it up to the Browns not being as good out the gate as many anticipated, and it putting people on edge.I’ve never seen a fan base so eager to blow a team up. It’s honestly fascinating.
That’s how I envision the team wants to operate. Why wouldn’t anyone want the team to be good for the next 20 years? It’s mind boggling.I chalk it up to the Browns not being as good out the gate as many anticipated, and it putting people on edge.
It’s baseball, all you can do is put yourself in a position to be a good team each year, and hope you get the right breaks along the way.
We were good this year, but haven’t caught any breaks. As I’ve been saying since the deadline, we’re in an even better position next year. Let’s hope we catch some better breaks.
With the current structure of the organization, there’s no reason to ever blow it up. Sure there might be seasons where we struggle and only win 80-something games, but the goal is to just keep yourself in the mix year in and year out.
I’ve said it before, but I look at the Cardinals as a comparable model. Good FO, and have weathered numerous personnel changes and losses over the last 20 years, but are always near the top of their division, and in the WC mix. They’re been doing it for 20 years, we’ve done it for 7.
We have a lot of good years to look forward to thanks to our current talent, and top notch front office.
Now, being continuously good like that is easier said than done, but I don’t see any reason to believe this organization can’t sustain success for many more years. That’s how I envision the team wants to operate. Why wouldn’t anyone want the team to be good for the next 20 years? It’s mind boggling.
Never said it was going to be easy. But I agree, especially the way we’re churning out starting pitchers at the moment. That right there will make us competitive for the foreseeable future. Now, being continuously good like that is easier said than done, but I don’t see any reason to believe this organization can’t sustain success for many more years.
I don’t form my opinion based of that show. Now, I may bring up his stupid takes, but I don’t agree with anything he’s said about the Browns and he doesn’t talk MLB or the Cavs.So says you, the guy who forms his opinions listening to Colin Cowherd.
If you think this team doesn't have a chance to compete for a title next season, despite throwing out a pitching rotation of Clevinger, Bieber, healthy Carrasco, healthy Kluber, and any one of the promising young arms we saw down the stretch plus a lineup anchored by Lindor, Ramirez, Santana and Reyes, I don't know what to tell you. Yes, it's baseball and anything can happen, but this team is going to be competitive again in 2020.
