Completely agree patience is needed but I am truly mystified at the posters ready to anoint Okoro a future building block based on one excellent game.

Got it. Maybe I came off a bit strong tonight... I was pumped because this was his best game, by far, I've ever seen him play. Did you get a chance to catch the game tonight?! I think you'll be impressed, if you didn't see it yet.

He's raw, for sure, but the hustle, physicality and ability are all there... and I get the vibe from him that he truly wants it. I'm not calling him Jimmy Butler 2.0... but I'm saying the potential is there! Defensive bulldog, facilitator, makes the right play, doesn't force it, can hit the open 3 (especially with more time to perfect his mechanics). If he works on his handle, watch out.

Who anointed him?

Is it really a weird concept on a Cleveland Cavs fan forum that on the night Okoro played his best game of his 60 odd game NBA career, people would enter the Isaac Okoro thread to make some positive comments about his overall progress, his game tonight, and the hope for his growth in the future?

You’re posting as if we’re on a general national NBA message board and someone just dropped an “Isaac Okoro: Is he a top 15 player in the NBA?” post.

But I’ll ask again, since its relevant to your hush hushing, did you watch the actual game. Or are you here to clap back on people excited for what they saw with their eyes for 53 minutes based on just your general surly disposition about the current state of the Cavs?

It’s one thing to wonder in hindsight if they should’ve drafted for fit in the previous two drafts and another entirely to make empty statement about the team being shitty simply for starting three young players as if there are other options lol.

Competed against an elite team until the wheel came off, saw Okoro breakout and lost thus bettering our odds. Fantastic night. Being excited is okay and so is being patient.

If I win the bet, have I really lost. And vice versa

Man hands!!!!

We both like Okoro, so I think this would potentially be a double HJ simultaneously. Olga is right handed though, so I'll sit on the left to ensure I get less callused action.

Not sure why everyone is so excited, this guy is not even an MVP candidate. I am not happy at all that he scored 32 points on very efficient scoring against one of the best teams in the league. In fact, I find it quite annoying for some inexplicable reason. But go ahead with your “he’s just a rookie” excuses. Wilt Chamberlain was a rookie once too and he’s in the hall of fame. Tell me one time Okoro has ever done that.

I’ll bet Okoro isn’t on pace to bang 10,000 Thots either.

Finally we used him in PnRs today and great to see him drive to the basket and impressed of his passing ability too in finding the open man and did not panic at all. When he gets stronger he is going to be even better. The fact he played decent defense for so many minutes and produced on offense is promising. Perfect from the line 9-9 and has shot at least 6 FTs in 5 of the last 6 games. Love his passion and intensity. This was a brief glimpse to his future today.

He showed off his finishing, floor vision/playmaking, his improving handle, and some glimpses of shot making. If he adds that mid range pull up, he's going to be tough to handle.

Hard to understand how a poster can be negative about IO in this game.. He pretty much delivered offensively in every way. The drive and dish assist to Allen, the drive and kick to Sexton, splitting two bigs to the hoop, straight up post bully on a smaller player, screen step back three, straight up quick release guy in his face three, shoulder drive LeBron style in traffic 2.. And this a guy who has played pretty much every game this year as a defensive plus, and playing a game that doesn't matter..

So is it enough to make the Allstar team? No... Is it enough for a cavs fan to celebrate? Yeah, it is..
