Okoro led the team in minutes his rookie year and was third last year. I don’t see him falling out of the rotation (unless he’s traded).

I think this team is a few more years away from true contention than a lot of people would like to think. Even Fedor reported that true contention will probably only come once Mobley starts dominating in 3+ years. Although Isaac's role will definitely change from the past couple years, he is still only a few months older than Mobley and has a ton of time to develop

I come here everyday to see the Polls. I die of laughter every single time.

Guess what makes me laugh even more? Jim Chones.

But if we draft (2) wings this year, where do you find playing time for Okoro? Hence why his value might be at its highest right now. I'd take a high end backup PG and run.

We are closing in on a win-now mentality, and we have to be real with player development and pieces that help us to win. Okoro is expendable, as his window to success is years away. I can see him being serviceable at 24/25 years old, but do we have 3 years to wait?

I just don't know if there is a team that would take on Okoro and provide anything really of value back. He is an odd fit for most rosters. The only trade I've thought of is Okoro for Cam Reddish, just because both might be over valued by each front office but Thibs could value Okoro and actually play him, which he didn't with Reddish.

Okoro might just end up a specialist on our team and he will probably have to take a pay cut when his rookie contract is up.

Might be a case of some holding out hope for development because of where he was picked. There are hundreds of top 15 picks that teams hoped they could develop that just never grasped the NBA game. Isaac might be one of those. I'm confident any of the guys we pick at 14 will be head and shoulders better all-around than Okoro is.

I just don't see him being in a rotation for a playoff-caliber team.
I'd argue that his defense already makes him *in the rotation* a probability.

Also, I agree there's no selling high at this point. Another team may see an opportunity to buy low, but the best you could hope for is a contender trading a late first in order to bring him in as a defensive specialist.

I could easily see him falling into a role like Cedi and Wade, where he's part of the rotation but he gets a lot less minutes and has to earn them to stay on the court.
His minutes have come about because of a lack of options but there are signs the team is tiring of his struggles and options now seem to be likely present. Okoro saw his minutes severely limited the last 2 games once Levert was available, what happens next year with probably both Levert and Sexton on the roster??

Okoro gonna be 10th man next year. He'll have a chance with injuries but I expect pick 14 to play ahead of him.

I think you all are wrong and are going to be very surprised by what we see next season.

I hope. Think he is more 6 year plan than 3 year plan. Not on our timeline. He's a great sweetener in a larger deal.

Hes about to be in year 3 of 6 then. I think that lines up perfectly fine with the start of our title contention in 2024-25.

Dorian Finney-Smith finally blossomed in his 4th season in the league(age 26)

At this point, as long as they are not force feeing him starting or gtd minutes. I’m happy treating it as a long term development that could still have some payoff vs judging him anymore on being a top5 pick(he’s a busy at this time by that standard).

His shooting % have gone up from year one to year two. If that happens again, even if it’s just from spot up 3s, it would be a good sign. So there is still hope and examples for his development arc, I just see it as a hope and bonus, rather than blind faith that it will happen

I think fans are going to have to readjust their expectations as to what the typical rookie plays like after watching Mobley for a year. Whoever is drafted at No. 14 isn't walking onto a 20-win team that's starting unmotivated, washed vets or Gleague guys. He's going to have to beat out a combination of Lauri, Okoro, LeVert, and possibly even Sexton. The starters, as a unit, are going to have to perform better with that player on the court rather than the other options. The Cavs should be done force feeding rookies minutes in the name of development.

All of this is fine BTW. Good teams develop their picks off the bench because they have that luxury. I think there's a case to be made that LeVert should start if Okoro's shooting hasn't improved next season. I was impressed by LeVert's defense, if not his offense, in the play-in games. If he can expend that kind of effort on the defensive end over 82 games, he might be the better option. If he's like J.R., and he only turns the switch on in the postseason, then it could easily go the other way.

His inolvement and presence depends on the urgency of the Cavs. If they get aggressive and want to win now and throw in the chips, I’d be very surprised if he’s on the roster this fall.
If they’re patient, see how the team gels with Sexton back, a backup PG and LeVert, he could easily be around the entire next season. Then Love falls off the books too. He may actually be the piece to go with that expiring contract.
I wouldn’t rule him out of being here, and I wouldn’t rule Okoro out of being moved.
