His inolvement and presence depends on the urgency of the Cavs. If they get aggressive and want to win now and throw in the chips, I’d be very surprised if he’s on the roster this fall.
If they’re patient, see how the team gels with Sexton back, a backup PG and LeVert, he could easily be around the entire next season. Then Love falls off the books too. He may actually be the piece to go with that expiring contract.
I wouldn’t rule him out of being here, and I wouldn’t rule Okoro out of being moved.
It also depends upon the urgency of the potential trading partners. If you're the only one who's urgent, you end up shipping out cap space, the 2023 first, and the No. 31st overall for LeVert. The reason it's important to be flexible and keep your options open is because you can't control when players you actually want to hit the trade market, will hit the trade market, or free agency for that matter.

From Fedor's last question-and-answer column:

Altman spoke about “unlocking” Okoro more on the offensive end. He is heading into his third season. That’s the famed leap year for youngsters. But at this point of his career, Okoro -- most effective in the open floor and cutting to the basket -- lacks the diverse offensive skill set to threaten opposing defenses. Starting or coming off the bench, that’s a problem.

Without beating mismatches or knocking down open jumpers, it becomes tougher to justify so much playing time -- even when making an impact elsewhere. Okoro knows it. That’s his offseason focus.

I don't know about the third season being "the famed leap year for youngsters". Has anybody seen evidence of that? But hopefully that will be the case for Isaac.

I assume he will be in the gym every day working on his offensive game. The addition of LeVert, the return of Sexton, the improvement by Stevens, Markkanen showing he can play the 3, and the possible addition of another wing in the draft means Okoro will face more challenges than in past years for playing time. I agree that without a more diverse skill set he won't be able to continue getting the minutes he has been getting. There are too many other options.
No question it’s a huge off-season for Okoro. I don’t expect the Cavs to trade him because that would be selling a stock when it has basically bottomed out.

Okoro has to find a way to grow his offensive game and develop confidence in it. Without that his minutes will certainly wane and he’ll be at risk for becoming a bust. He showed flashes last season, but he needs to become more consistent.

The good news on Okoro:

If he plays similarly to how he has the past two seasons, his extension to be our 8th man will be cheap as hell.

If he plays better offensively next season, then he’s turning into the guy we want him to be.

It’s a win-win.

Timing could play into how good or bad of a contract he ends up on. If Okoro breaks out after an extension, he will be on a good contract. If he takes a jump next season, they could pay him thinking he will keep progressing but he could plateau, resulting in a bad contract.

So now we’re actually moving to the point that we hope he’s just the same average Okoro next year….

4D chess, baby.

Truly a brick shithouse in multiple ways on the court.
21 years old - Jimmy Butler was 22 his rookie season in the NBA. My favorite Okoro take is him not fitting the timeline of this team because he needs another three years. As if our window is only the next two years. In reality we’re not a contender for next year and probably not the following year as we’re still too young & inexperienced. But some people have no patience and DEMAND WINS NOW!

By NBA standards, Isaac Okoro is no longer that young. 21 years old and two full seasons in the NBA behind you is plenty of time to show your stuff. He’ll get another shot here next season I’m sure, since I doubt there will be much if any interest from other teams in him, but it’s getting time to retire the age excuse

Darius showed out in his second year, but not the whole time. It was about 4months. Giving Collin and Darius time to develop helped a lot. I don't think it's surprising a rawer prospect needs more time.

He raised his efficiency to NBA levels this year, and increased his rate of drawing fouls.

It's his attempts and and aggression that need to increase now.

NBA might be the only major sports league we’re a 21 year old player is consider washout/done by the fan base, back in 80, 90, early 2000 player’s weren’t coming into the league until they were either soph/juniors and in most cases Sr, drafted ages were around 22/23

My favorite all time Cavs draft was back in 1986, I actually went to that draft downtown Cleveland, We took Daugherty, Harper, Prices Williams and Newman here are there ages during that season…..…

Daugherty 21 and he was 16 when he enrolled in college play all 4 years, and still was considered young when he came out
Price 22
Harper 23
Williams 24
Newman 23

Okoro 19 …..Still only 21

I’m not saying Okoro with age is all of sudden is going to turn into Jimmy Butler , but to give up on him this early would be premature…….

Thing is he has had two full seasons as a starter…128 NBA games, 4000+ minutes
