He was good and was slowing guys down. Offensive players totally shit the bed against the warriors.

I want to see Diakite and Stevens too, but it wasn't Okoro that lost this game. He had them in it

Just waive him or wtv what’s the point anymore, there’s definitely better players rotting on benches around the league, overseas or in the g league
They picked up his 4th year option and owe him almost $9 mil next season.

At this point he is a trade chip, might have to roll with him as an expiring next season if we find no takers this deadline.

Okoro looked clueless at least twice down the stretch on out of bounds
denial on Curry. On one of them, he gave Curry position right near foul line
extended so that Curry had no Cav between him and the Warrior inbounding
the ball. Quick move by Steph, gets the ball and has to be fouled. Not any
attempt for ball denial. Curry got the ball, was fouled and Okoro stood
watching with a befuddled expression. That's not what you want to see from
a supposed defensive stopper.

There was another play on Cavs offensive possession a bit earlier where Cavs missed a shot,
got the rebound, pass goes to IO at the left side of the rim and IO banks
a shot that missed and didn't even hit the rim. A Drummond level of touch.

Bah, humbug.

He wasn't even good on the defensive end. He wasn't terrible, but he got blown by on the perimeter numerous times.
This is the biggest concern to me. Drafted him hoping he would be a less long but stout small forward. Realized immediately that wasn’t the case. But it’s OK, he will be elite at guarding 1s and 2s! That hasn’t panned out either. In addition to having no ability to create an offense or shoot.

They need to move off asap.

Could someone list specifics on who these mysterious 20 guys out there in FA that are better wings than Okoro are? I would love to know

Lou Williams, Wayne Ellington, Avery Bradley, Ben mclemore, Jeremy lamb, Carmelo Anthony, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Goodwin, lance stevenson, Matt Thomas, Rodney Hood, Gary Clarke, Skylar Mays,

(There are other better free agents just didn’t include bigs)

Hell I’d even take Tony Snell right now

Honorable mention Miles Bridges, but fuck him of course

They changed his shooting mechanics in the offseason, which was dumb. They weren't great but at least he could get hot at times. Now he can't make a single 3. That's on the training staff imo. Shattered what little confidence he had left.

Its like they didn't take his confidence into account when they decided to break down his shooting mechanics and try to rebuild it. He had so little offensive skills to begin with so he didn't have anything to turn to if his new shot didn't instantly translate.

The Cavs coaching staff haven't had much success with changing players shooting mechanics in general. The only time I remember players getting better at 3pt shooting by tweaking their mechanics was when Korver was around and basically became the teams shooting coach. Whenever the actual staff has done it, they don't seem to get any results.

I'm pretty mystified as to why Lamar Stevens isn't getting minutes here.
Maybe Cavs think he overlaps with Okoro. Stevens might not have a very high ceiling but I know he's going to go out there and at least contribute.

He has favorites.

Use Neto, Lamar, Diakite. And when Wade is healthy, play him 30 minutes.

Okoro is unplayable. He wasn't even good on the defensive end. He wasn't terrible, but he got blown by on the perimeter numerous times.

I also think it's quite possible that JBB went to bat to draft Okoro and may have been overconfident that he could develop Okoro to be worth the #5 pick. There could be lingering feelings to prove that he was right or just not completely wrong on Okoro.

Curry just lit him up. Watch the game, when okoro was in, curry scored on consecutive plays.
I thought sexton was bad in navigating screens, okoro is even worst. Granted klay had that moving screen, but there were several plays before where okoro just vanished.

He doesn't even defend the guy whom he's supposed to switch to!
