He's completely unplayable right now. I saw him miss some shots that myself, and I'm sure others here... can make in their sleep. He needs some G League time for offense/confidence. There are many 6"5' guys out there way better than IO.

Okoro is playing right now out of necessity with all the injuries.. Let’s see how much they still believe in him with everyone back..

Look, as fans it's easy to say, "this guy can't shoot and therefore bench him." Fact of the matter is, he would normally be last guy in the rotation. Injury and illness have thrust Okoro into a bigger role while the players he would fit with best - shooters and spacers - are either out or playing on fumes.

What I can say in Okoro's defense is that he is defending at a high level and doesn't turn the ball over. I personally don't believe he is a Cavalier past the deadline, so let him show some rebuilding team in the Wembayama sweepstakes that he still deserves some development time and isn't a lost cause. The time to give him those minutes won't make more sense later... This is his time.

Have mercy on us all.
Part of this is he really can’t say anything else. Now, if he and the organization actually believe everything is great then we have a genuine issue. You don’t play people, even at the high school level, because “nobody works harder”. You play the best players - period. Anything else is unfair to the other people on the team

Or, show some building team in the Wembayama sweepstakes that he can be their tank commander if they start him.

The crazy thing is that after the All-Star break last year he shot 44.2% on 3's. It was only 44 shots, but the percentage was great. It makes me wonder why they decided to "rebuild" his shot in the off-season. He's down to 18% after a summer of intensive work.

They did the rebuild last offseason i thought. Usually a 3 year process to see the full results, but it hasn't been good

I think they need to continue the summer process by hooking up the robot voice so it works during actual games. Whenever he shoots during a game a disembodied voice needs to boom out “Isaac…45%!” or whatever, echoing through the furthest reached of the Q. Not having his ever-present robot voice is fucking with his shooting

If JBB is going to continue to make the game harder on everyone else because he wants to play his pet, then they can gtfo together.

There were multiple times last night where Okoro was wide open but refused to shoot the 3. Made the game harder for everyone else on the floor, especially Mitchell and Mobley. Toronto hid Siakam on him all game. On defense, Siakam would stand under the basket and double Mobley while completely ignoring Okoro at the 3 point line.

While I agree with you 100%, I am more pissed off when he passed on the open shot than when he takes and misses the open shot. He needs to shoot himself into a comfort zone, and a "schedule loss" is exactly where the best coaches let the young guys get some burn.

completely agree... he is to passive.

I'll have to do some research but I think you'd be hardpressed to find a team who was THIS committed a really bad draft pick.

I'm thinking of guys that I previously was open to Cavs drafting who have turned into busts.

Kevin Knox, Jarret Culver...guys like that were struggling to get into the game their FIRST year. When it's all potential and the team sucks and you don't care if they suck and help you lose. Even then those guys were struggling for rotation minutes.

Here we are, in year 3, and this dude is getting major minutes despite having developed essentially zero on a team trying to win.

I can't think of anything comparable.

Someone help me here.

I really do believe if he were on any other team, any other team, he'd be playing essentially zero minutes and that would have been the case last year. Let alone this year.

I hope he turns it around, I still believe in the kid. The only way he develops is to give him minutes. They asked him to rebuild his shot, usually you're going to suffer a lot of pain while the guy is trying to get the new jumper to stick. For a player that's been slow to develop anyway, adding another difficulty on top of that is going to be challenging to overcome. So they kind of owe it to him to give him minutes, they are heavily invested in this player and it seems that they really do believe he will develop.

I know it's hard for y'all, but this guy is going to need a lot of time. Just be prepared, it's going to be ugly to watch lol but maybe try rooting for the guy? The vitriol doesn't seem to be helping.
