He's a glue guy in that he needs a well-rounded team around him for him to look good.

He's not good enough to stand up and overcome deficiencies of the team on the court.

His shot feels a bit off right now....I do wonder why we don't run plays for him attacking the rim, especially with Mitchell losing a step and Garland always getting blocked. Okoro is great driving, one day some other team is going to snag him and we'll watch the highlights week after week.

He was passive today and really excels offensively when the Cavs have pace and space and everyone else is cooking. I think he still lacks confidence in his offensive game.

I also guarantee he will be a major contributor in at least one playoff W...we are due for another role player anomaly and Okoro is especially due...

He was definitely a tone setter. Super proud of him for professionally going right at Wagner to let em know that his shit wasn’t going to fly.

A well earned tech and we didn’t have to resort to bringing in a bench goon to lay a cheap shot.

I want him to shoot these opportunities he’s getting. He’s not going to always be left completely wide open. Take notes from niang. He’s throwing up anything. Okoro wants to make the best basketball player for a better look, but we just need him to shoot it once he gets it.

Would love for Mobley to do that. Wagner just pushed you out of bounds. Get in his face a little. Shouldn’t have to be your guard

At the point where he got hurt he was just starting to settle into the game. Him and caris need to attack on these secondary breaks especially against the magics bench. I also think using him as a screener when the magic try to hide Anthony on him will pay dividends

Absolutely love everything this kid is about… Always have…

Was he drafted higher than his skillset ? Absolutely…. If we drafted Okoro with the 22nd pick in the draft most would consider him a steal…

He went top 5…. Not his fault….

Same with Mobley… If we drafted him 16th overall he’d be a steal…. Snagged him 3rd (with expectations)…

Well, Mobley is still one of the best 3 players from his draft, so there’s no regrets there.

Okoro was drafted before Tyrese Haliburton, so thats always going to sting a bit.

Any news if Okoro is going to be ready for game 2?

A quick rule of thumb for valuing players (or employees in general) is how upset you’d be if they left.

I rank Ice very high on that basis.

Koby specifically said he drafted Ice because we had offensive players and needed defense. Whatever else can be said about that draft pick there’s no doubt he is a very good defender and versatile in who he can guard. He’s incredibly strong, mobile and coachable.

When he misses games we struggle. (Wade is similar). Most of the NBA media and discussion revolves around counting stats but defense is every bit as important as offense and it doesn’t lend itself to counting stats like offense.

Defense and physicality become more important in the playoffs. Ice will be a valuable rotation playoff player for a very long time. We must keep him

Something I didn't consider going into this series that clicked when I read some Magic forums. Defense. Magic fans are under the impression their defense is better and see the Cavs as a "top 11" team there. While their (regular season) defense may be better, they're underselling the Cavs potential and not accounting for that aspect as one of the primer calling cards of the team. Perhaps it's more fuel for the fire (JA saying they want to hold them to 85 for example) for the team as they're aware Orlando sees themselves as a defense-first squad. Proving Grounds of Basketball Overlords.

Helps the Cavs that they're playing such a bad offensive team;)

Yesterday was awesome, and I hope it was a glimpse into what Isaac Okoro brings to a playoff series.

He was physical. He was great defensively. Orlando felt him. He let Wagner know that his bullshit wasn't going to go unnoticed.

Ice is going to have a very long NBA career and will be a player seen in April and May most years. I hope it's in Cleveland at a reasonable price tag.
