Okoro is second on the team in 3pt % at 40.7%, which is just 0.2% behind Merrill in first. His eFG% is third on the team at 59.4% behind big men Allen and Thompson, and his FGA have gone up each year he's been in the league.

What is this guy going to look like at 25?

He's never going to lead the league in scoring - or shot attempts - but he's no longer a one-way player or offensive liability. I definitely wouldn't be shocked when some other team that recognizes his value puts a bag on the table.

I think there is a team out there that could put Okoro into his perfect fit as a starter and if they have the money they will put a bag on the table for him. I'm just not sure that the Cavs will value Okoro at the same amount that another team could. Not really sure who that team would be.

If a team that already has two star ball handlers and is lacking a SG for their starting lineup, Okoro could fit in perfect. The Cavs just have too much SG depth that if a big offer sheet comes along, I'm not sure we match.

I think how he plays in the playoffs will have a major effect on what kind of offer sheet he gets. The further we get in the playoffs the more exposure he will get and the buzz with role players on good teams tends to go up.

Are we talking just offensively, or overall?

Sure, we expect more offensively out of Garland because that is supposed to be his strength. Nobody expects him to shut down the opposing team's best perimeter player.

If Okoro failed on the defensive end that is supposed to be his strength, he'd get a lot more criticism.

Overall, at this point, I wouldn't be shocked if Okoro ends up being the more valuable/better player long term. His defense is outstanding, and his offensive improvement is turning him into a great guy to pair with an offensive minded PG. Guys who can contribute without needed the ball in their hands are usually an easier fit on most teams.

Thanked for how much he has improved offensively and saying what he looks like in 2 years, but I dont think that bag ever comes, i think the Cavs take care of Okoro. He really is a must keep and will be getting 20 mill a year if not a bit more.

If he gets offered $20M / year I think he’s getting S&T’d or the Cavs let him walk. Or, the Cavs need to trade Garland. I don’t think they can afford to pay him that much with what they’re paying Garland, Mobley’s upcoming extension, and what Mitchell’s new deal would be.

Even if LeVert is gone, that’d wind up being like $110M+ between Mitchell, Garland, and Okoro. Throw in Mobley and those four guys are over $150M.

The first off-season domino is Mitchell. If we extend him, then I think some trades of significance will happen. Would not be the least bit surprised to see Garland traded.

When Ice was drafted it was known he was very raw offensively. It takes years to develop NBA level offensive skills even if you have the proper attitude, dedication and physical ability.

Not everyone has the patience necessary for young players so we had a lot of "0k0r0" posts in the past.

Last night's game is a case study on what happens if you put players on the floor who are horrible defenders.

Ice started as a rookie (and led the team in minutes) because coaches know they need some defensive talent on the floor or the team will get steamrollered like Northwestern facing Woody "no mercy" Hayes.

He's growing offensively because he busts his ass in the gym, he's coachable as they come and he's always had a steady, mature head. (Wade's steady demeanor helps him too).

I think some credit for improved play and confident attitude from Isaac and Dean is the influence of Niang. Georges has the correct attitude for a shooter - shoot when open and don't allow misses to affect you. Its ok to try and fail, it's not ok to not try.

I'll be really pissed off if we don't keep Okoro.

If he went to a bad team and was able to develop his sola I’m confident he’d average 20 points a game. He’s just not the best in this stand around, no offense system.

I'm happy with the steps Okoro has taken each season and particularly this season. I'd absolutely love to keep him moving forward.

But $20m/per seems entirely too high especially considering the large contracts we already have locked in (Mitchell, Garland, Mobley soon).

I’d be shocked if it were $20M AAV..

I think we’re looking at more $11M-$15M AAV..

He’s back to passing up wide open 3s again. Sad because I really was impressed with him letting it fly before the All Star Break.

there for a little while it looked like he might play himself into the greater than $15m category. Now I think your numbers look spot on.

It sucks that you literally can't count on this guy for anything really...yes, I know his defense is quite great, but it doesn't make up for his offense, it's not good enough to. When Garland or Mitchell aren't playing well, there are still 7 people or so ahead of Okoro on people you'd rely on to do anything to get us out of a funk. I can't imagine how that's worth more than 13 million, let alone anywhere near 20 million.
