A lot to like about Okoro, especially his defense, shot blocking for his size, and passing. 29% on 3's is not that great but he's only 19 and there's nothing mechanically wrong with his shot. He plays bigger than his size in terms of strength and leaping ability. I don't know if he's the best choice for the Cavs who could lose Thompson now and Drummond after this season and be without a center, which is why I'm praying for Wiseman but will settle for Okongwu or Toppin.

Can Toppin play the 5?

Small ball lineups, yes. Needs to add to his frame to defend better in the post but offensively he'll be a nightmare matchup for opposing 5's with his ability to run the floor as well as shoot the 3.

I will vomit,if the Cavs draft Toppin. Why draft a player that's more flat-footed that Kevin Love on defense. This makes no sense to draft Toppin, especially when you've been preaching defense when you hired Beilin.

While,I prefer Okoro,if they draft Okongwu now I wouldn't have an issue with it. Either way, this team needs to draft a wing or get one in free agency.

They seem to love Windler and KPJ qualifies as a wing IMO. I see him as kind of a 2-3 player, probably more of a 2 but can play the 3 depending on the opponent. The Cavs best lineup last year was with Nance at the 3 so between Windler, Nance, and KPJ I'm pretty happy with what they have at small forward and I'm not even counting Cedi because he's #4 on my list.

They can go big with Nance, small with KPJ, or in between with Windler or Cedi. They could put KPJ at 2, Windler at 3, and Nance at 4 when Love is out. With KPJ able to swing 2-3 and Nance 3-4 they have a lot of flexibility.

Thompson could be gone tomorrow and Drummond, assuming he opts in, could be traded at the deadline or walk in free agency after this season. If he's not a fit for what JBB is doing here like he wasn't a fit in Detroit or if he gets a bigger offer with a better team then he's gone and who do we have to play the 5?

That's why I'm hoping for Wiseman, Okongwu, and Toppin in that order. Okoro doesn't shoot well enough to play guard so he would be thrown into that crowded small forward mix.

If,they draft Toppin it means the organization wasnt serious about fixing the defense or making the playoffs.

I'm not trying to hate on Toppin but this team has enough scorers as it is. We need a player that's defensive minded or atleast won't demand the ball as much.

It is a shame there is so much disdain for Toppin BUT it has zero to do with his talent. I think any team who secures his services & isn't a defensive nightmare like us & could use the points would be happy to have him. If you could tell me that Kevin Love was going to be done in a year or so, maybe I'd consider Obi to a greater level.

Okoro fills a need and I like the potential he has as a player. He just makes a lot more sense for how our team is positioned at this moment talent wise.

I think if you improve the defense, the offense will essentially fix itself. We have good transition players. Turnovers, and never stopping the other team are the most difficult thing about the offense. IMO Windler, Nance, Garland, Porter are all likely to be better offensively this year. Sexton probably will be too. I think if they can even get to around 20 on defense they will be middle of the road offensively, and better if Windler and Garland improve 3 pt shooting volume.

I agree with you 100%

I don't think it's disdain though. This team has enough scorers as it is,we don't need another scorer on this team at the moment....We need players like Okoro, Okongwu, Patrick Williams,Vassell and etc

I originally wanted Toppin but thought about how bad our defense was last season. I've said this many times, for whatever reason, after the Cavs won the title the team forgot to play defense. It's gotten worst every single year.

I'm slightly more optimistic than you when it comes to the the defense. I'm hoping they could get around 16-18 range. Either way,I think it will be a major improvement.

I just hope Garland shoot the ball when he's partial or wide open.

If,the Cavs manage to draft Toppin,Bickerstaff gonna have to do some major adjustments for the defense because he's slow and flat-footed on that side of the ball.

Okoro is just what this team needs- a DOG, who’s gonna work hard, get after people defensively, & not demand the ball. I’d be perfectly fine with him or Okongwu at #5

My only gripe with Okongwu is he does the same thing as TT with bringing the ball down low before going up to score, leads to tougher shots + more chance to get blocked

That’s nothing more than a bad habit that has to be broken. The kid is 19 and he reminds me alot of Bam Adebayo.
