With no information I would imagine, with the way his season ended, and with more and more guys seeming to bet on themselves, and with most organizations being more attractive than CLE, he would likely decline all multi-year offers?

I hope his body language wasn't about hating being in Cleveland. He seemed to lose the will to basketball like Larry Drew.

No.

Naw. His market value is likely 18 mil per yesr TOPS. If we offer him 4 years 80 mill he’ll take it. No team in todays league is going to offer him more than that.

I really hope we don't overpay for a center. I love what Allen brings but the position is just nowhere near as important as last decade. If Cha offers him 4/100 i would try to negotiate a SnT

In today’s NBA you really need to be a threat offensively otherwise you can’t play them in the playoffs. Allen is a good player but if he’s going to get 25mm I suggest sign and trade or don’t sign him. After teams seeing Simmons and Gobert, maybe Allen’s value will decrease.

“In a word: Pricey,” Fedor wrote. “I’d expect Allen’s total number to creep close to $100 million, maybe even a bit north of that. Even though he’s a restricted free agent and the Cavs have sent clear signals that Allen isn’t going anywhere, the 22-year-old center will be one of the top free-agent targets. He’s a no-maintenance, ascending big who fits the modern era because of the vertical spacing he creates and a willingness to thrive without having plays for him. He also impacts winning at a high level. Who wouldn’t want him? Well, aside from Brooklyn.”
I'm fairly certain the only NBA games Fedor watches is on ESPN & any info he gets is from reddit.

Counterpoint, if the rest of the league sees it the same way, who is going to make a big trade offer for him?

And for the Cleveland Cavs, I would rather keep him at 18-24M per year for the next 4-5 years than let him walk for nothing. Right now improvement in regular season record over the next 2-3 years is more important than whether or no the value of a defensive center diminishes in the playoffs.

My hope is other teams are seeing what's happening out here to some of these centers with no offensive skillset being shot off the court and won't go offer him 25 million a year.

Posted elsewhere but if someone offers him a 25m contract you let him walk. Not worth wasting that much cap space on a player you can't play in the playoffs.

I like Allen, I think he is a good young center and is the kind of player you need in the regular season. But you can get Daniel Theis at 10m to do the same things.

This guy can't be the highest paid player on the team. Look at Golbert who is a much better player than Allen becoming useless in the playoffs. The NBA is about guards and forwards who can score in a variety of ways. Draft Jalen Green.

We need a picture of Daniel Theis and Jarrett Allen standing next to each other. Theis definitely battles on the block and challenges shots, but he is a small ball center. He's listed at 6'8, but that's generous.

This!
After watching Goebert get exposed to the 5-out offense, I hope teams are less inclined to overpay. I want him back for sure, however if he were to be signed and traded for a decent return, I wouldn’t be totally bent out of shape. If your center can’t score and create mismatches when a team goes small, he better be 2016 Tristan. Meaning he’s not a liability switching pick and roll while dominating the offensive glass and getting your team 7-8 extra possessions.
Goebert did neither and the jury is out on Jared being able to do it.
