I'm liking this guy more and more. Post game interviews - he offers more details into the thought process of the decisions. He sounds like a smart logical guy. He's new to the nba, I hope it all works out for us.
His presser tonight cracked me up “that’s why they scored 119” looks down at box score and whispers which the mic picks up “129...131..shit!” LOL!!!

Can't watch the game and just checking the box scores during the game... Like that he benched Sexton/Garland for taking too many shots, don't like that it seems that it didn't deter Sexton in taking tough shots when he came back in 4Q...

So far I like that team is playing hard, it is just that most games they are just outmatched by better rosters on the other side...

It seems like he's coaching just fine. The results have been, so far, better than I thought they'd be for the team. The roster isn't very good, largely made up of either one-dimensional or significantly flawed players. On the days that that opponents just shoot badly due to circumstances, this team has a shot, but only if they shoot well themselves. This year ought to be about showing off what contributions Love and Thompson can still make and trying to get the most from them in trades. Garland looks out of his depth at this point, and Sexton is a real work in progress. They ought to still get a high draft pick, regardless of Love or Thompson staying with the team all year long. None of that would be a failure on the part of Beilein.

What is Garland role?

I’m watching so many coaches getting their rookie involved in the offense while JB under utilize Garland.

We heard all summer long about Garland shooting abilities and we’ve yet seen anything ran for him to get open looks. What’s the point in him starting when he isn’t running the offense?

I don’t understand JB approach. Garland could’ve been a factor off the bench where he could be playing HIS game and learning.

I’m watching the Miami Heat get two rookie guards involved in the offense and flourishing, Ja Morant looking good as the lead guard, Charlotte with Graham, Washington with Rui etc I’m seeing a lot of success with these rookies. What the hell is JB doing with Garland?

Devonte is a sophomore. PJ Washington is the rookie.

Either way, it’s a lot of rookies performing while we watch Garland look lost with no role.
Don't know if there's much to it, but Garland looks out of shape to me. Looks like he's being eased into shape considering his recent injuries. Just a thought. Maybe in another month if he's still in the same non-role, we should worry

I personally miss a coach whose words were "play with pace" every other thought.

I keed...I keed...

Tired of the excuses. Garland had his injury last year. If he’s so out of shape, why the hell did JB name him starter? And being out of shape really has nothing to do with his role on the team and his abilities to shoot.

Have you ever seen a set of plays to get Garland open for shots? Does he look lost out there to you? Does he look somewhat under utilized from what we heard from summer?

I just noticed he has been making the right play a lot, but a little too late. His passes inside have been getting picked off. His floater isn't going, so he should be stopping and pulling up sooner. Turnovers are mostly good and off time IMO.

I saw a detailed scouting report on him talk about how guys who use their lower body on their shots as well as he does are actually at a disadvantage if they get bumped or are treated physically because their balance is more important that guys that shoot with their upper body. This was true of Boobie, Korver also had trouble with getting roughed up as we saw against GS repeatedly, so maybe there is some truth to that. In any case, the physicality is something he has mentioned more than once, and it is pretty apparent he is avoiding contact. I don't blame him after the year of sitting out, but he is going to have to be more physical to get minutes. Preseason was one thing, but guys are being really physical with him because he is a rookie

It was interesting to see the small back court actually get exploited for the first time. No one could score at the basket even TT. That was just a monstrous lineup and Porzingus was really good.

He looks a little lost. But not because he isn't smart. Everything we have heard is his IQ is very high. I think my biggest worry........he doesn't seem like an alpha. Maybe he's the type that's trying to figure out when to pounce? But he decides a second too late?

His shape reminds me of Paul Pierce when he was younger. Thick, but not strong. In shape, but maybe fo and coaches don't think he's ready for 82 games at his current physique.

Honestly, it's just spitballing on my part. He looks pudgy to me. Could be nothing.

Or, FO just wants Clarkson and Delly showcased to trade by December.

My guess is they keep Delly. He isn't going to fetch anything except just expiring money but he can help the kids and Beilein loves him. In fact, I think Darius' struggles point even more to that.

I can roll with that.

Being last year there was no structure from our coaches, there's a lot of bad habits having to be broke. Delly is just a straight up hustle, have to work harder than anyone because as much as we love him? He's just as unathletic as most of us lol. Not a knock, just something about him that any coach or team would love to keep him around for

You're ruining an RCF tradition... Keep Paul Pierce comparisons in jest, lol :)

Agree that he needs more time... Lets also remember how bad Kyrie was first few games as a rookie, sonetimes it just takes time for them to click
