FWIW, Beilein made a comment after the game that Bickerstaff handles substitutions.

Well either way it just wasn't true. Garland hit all of those shots in the 3rd.

Then the quarter ended, so if the theory is a guy can be taken out of rhythm by being subbed out, then surely it holds true if the quarter ends and he has to sit for 5 minutes as well.

But he didn't get subbed then. He started the 4th and when he came out at like 8 minute mark hadn't hit a bucket since the 3rd.

The TNT guys made a great point: if the players were offended in the moment, they should have spoken up IN THE MOMENT. Then, right there, Beilein could have realized his mistake and explained it. Instead, whoever leaked it out, kept their mouth shut and then went to the media.

I've got some ideas of who I think would be the number 1 culprit and his name rhymes with Gary Pants Jr.

The way it sounded was everyone was son their way out and be said something like, "I like the energy, you aren't playing like thugs anymore" and everyone left thinking "wtf". I dunno exactly

these players are entitled bitches. Doesn’t make the coach right, but their viginas are gaping.

I knew this season was going to be hell on earth, so did Beeline.

Sexton and Love played their asses off. Garland looked good as well.

Unless the culture around the team is one of speaking out at the coach gets you punished.

Solid idea to delegate some of the coaching responsibilities amongst more eyes, especially to someone with experience in the league as a rookie coach to pro ball.

Jackie Macmullan on Brian Windhorst's podcast said that the Beilein is not well-prepared. That it is a reason they don't like him. She got that from "being around the team" when she was covering their opponents.

I'm wondering what that means exactly. Does that mean they aren't ready for games? That he is putting too much into film, and not other stuff? I dunno. Seems like a guy meticulous about film being unprepared doesn't make sense. Maybe he is unprepared to deal with the NBA> That sounds more like it.

Thought that was interesting. They were talking about the thugs thing, and she mentioned this as not the only thing they are not happy with Beilein about. I never heard anything wrong with him from a "he's not doing enough standpoint" professionally.

It makes me wonder about Blatt, because this was one of his knocks as well, that he wasn't working hard enough, or didn't have the team prepared for their opponent. Byron Scott was fired for this. It does seem like NBA coaches are a different breed. Like we have heard from Austin Rivers that Doc was never around. Thibodeau and Lue have never married or done anything but basketball.

Interesting. Not prepared, yet grueling film sessions. Beilein is a rookie too. I hope his ability like Garland's is gaining momentum and isn't at its peak already.

I think the prepared part might just be forward scouting teams and being prepared to adjust lineup so you can match up. He has been pretty bad about that so far, it takes him alot of games to adjust things instead of doing it in game.

He only started to search for lineups when thing aren't working recently and that seems more because of injuries and Clarkson being traded. There has been countless times that Beilein just stuck with a lineup that clearly couldn't match up.

It's very much like a college coach to just have a couple lineups because of the talent level of the team. The amount of variation in the NBA with size that a team can throw out there is a lot higher. In college, Beilein could most likely stick with his lineups and rotations while just adjust assignments. That's something that would really make him look unprepared in the NBA.

Yeah that doesn't bother me. Acting like their should be 0 learning curve for him is not fair from the players.

I hate to break the news to people but its really hard for bad rosters to find line-ups that work against everyone, ya know? Like..what's our line-up that matches up tonight with leBron and AD? What's Beilein supposed to do that "works?"

I could see Love changing his tune on the team though from how Beilein has coached so far. Beilein may be able to develop the young players over time to be good NBA players but it's hard to see him being able to adjust on the fly in a playoff game.

I still think the plan is just for Beilein to teach these guys and develop them for a couple years then the team will be handed over to someone else to take them to the next level.
