I hate to break the news to people but its really hard for bad rosters to find line-ups that work against everyone, ya know? Like..what's our line-up that matches up tonight with leBron and AD? What's Beilein supposed to do that "works?"

If your coach isn't even trying to find something and just allows the team to get beat up or blown out night after night, then how do players have confidence in him? It's like giving up before even trying.

Like if we roll out 3 guards against the Lakers and Love has to guard Lebron or AD, I could see Love blowing up again. Really the best the Cavs can do against the Lakers might be TT/Henson on AD and Cedi/McKinnie on LeBron then figure out the other 3 on the floor.

That's quite clearly not happening though

Jackie Macmullan on Brian Windhorst's podcast said that the Beilein is not well-prepared. That it is a reason they don't like him. She got that from "being around the team" when she was covering their opponents.

I'm wondering what that means exactly. Does that mean they aren't ready for games? That he is putting too much into film, and not other stuff? I dunno. Seems like a guy meticulous about film being unprepared doesn't make sense. Maybe he is unprepared to deal with the NBA> That sounds more like it.

Thought that was interesting. They were talking about the thugs thing, and she mentioned this as not the only thing they are not happy with Beilein about. I never heard anything wrong with him from a "he's not doing enough standpoint" professionally.

It makes me wonder about Blatt, because this was one of his knocks as well, that he wasn't working hard enough, or didn't have the team prepared for their opponent. Byron Scott was fired for this. It does seem like NBA coaches are a different breed. Like we have heard from Austin Rivers that Doc was never around. Thibodeau and Lue have never married or done anything but basketball.

Interesting. Not prepared, yet grueling film sessions. Beilein is a rookie too. I hope his ability like Garland's is gaining momentum and isn't at its peak already.
I don't buy he's unprepared...he's been coaching for 40 years and he's not prepared?

It's not now but for a stretch that's what was happening and that's about the time alot of the drama started boiling up.

It sucks when you get this tidbits from Journalists. They don't tell you what they mean exactly, just that he is "just a college coach".

Almost every team gets blown out every now and then, especially when you're the least talented team in the league. I've seen no evidence of what you're suggesting.

The stretch between November 12th and December 11th they had one win and get blown out 9 times out of 14 games by double digits. The double digits loses are by 11, 19, 18, 24, 42, 12, 33, 47, and 22 points. The anonymous report of multiple Cavs players questioning Beileins methods comes out days after the 33 point lose to Detroit and TT yells at Beilein a couple days after the 47 point lose to Philly and 22 against Boston. The yelling happened in the Spurs game while they were in a 8 game losing streak which was broken that night.

I think the Lakers showed exactly what it means to be prepared tonight. Not saying that Beilein was unprepared but I think if you looked at the Lakers, they had a game plan for this game and knew exact what they wanted to do to win the game. They clearly made the effort to shut down Sexton and scouted exact what he does to prepare a plan to stop it.

You could clearly see that the Lakers are on a completely different level of being prepared for their opponents.

Or perhaps it's far easier to game plan for Sexton than LeBron?

Be mad at Gilbert and his puppet Koby. They’re the reason we’re getting blown out. Not beilein. Pop couldn’t win with this garbage.

It’s almost like we have a bad team.

I’m sorry but this is kind of a laughable take.

The Lakers weren’t more prepared. They are just way more talented. We’re not even in the same ballpark talent-wise.

Considering the Spurs have more talent and Pop can't win with that 'garbage' I can't imagine what he'd do with our dumpster fire of a roster.

It is and for the record, I'm not against Beilein. I think he is prioritizing teaching the young guys over winning which should be the goal of the organization. I was responding to @Cavatt about how Jackie MacMullan was saying Beiilein was unprepared and how the vets don't like him. It's not like this is the only reporter who has said this. Even Billups and Perkins said on the Jump that they don't think he was a good hire and they don't think he is a NBA head coach.

I do think the vets like Love don't see Beilein turning the switch and going into win mode even if we win the lottery and get the best player in the draft. Which is why they want out and don't want to waste the limited years they have left in their career being on this team.

I thought that after 3 good drafts that the Cavs might be able to try to compete but now with Beilein's style of developing guys and the vets wanting out, I think we are at least 2 more season away from that.
