He is still recovering from a fracture in his right hand. I think the plan is for him to fully heal and get his shot back. The Cavs can't fix his advancing age, but they can fix his perimeter offense if he gets healthy.

The good thing about Kevin is all he really does well at this age is shoot the three and rebound. I feel like he can do those things in his sleep if healthy. So If he misses a month and we bring him off the bench to hit a few buckets, he’ll be ready.

So, you don't play? You don't stay loose, ready, still going out there to prove you have to earn it every single day in any profession to this young team?
He’s a pro. He’s ready. Loose? WTF does that mean lol. He stretches. The Cavs will show him a bit more respect than that.
Next year if he’s on a vet contract, yeah he comes off the bench for garbage time.

That shot isn’t just going to go away. If he’s fully healthy he’s an asset in a month.
Like you said, let him get healthy.

If that was the case, wouldn't they just say that instead of 'we had the difficult talk with Kevin'?

No to Hayward. I live in the Charlotte TV market and Haward is unreliable, slow, plays no defense and his shot has been off. I don't even think he is an upgrade over Cedi. Charlotte would have to attach a first round pick to get rid of him

the fact that nobody plays defense in charlotte doesnt mean that a player cant if put into a different system.

the cavs get pj washington in the deal which is arguably the first...its a solid deal because the cavs are not going anywhere without a healthy kevin love....pre-finger oct/nov love....10/7....40/40

The difficult conversation was without you hitting threes you’re not as playable. He’s not hitting threes because of the injury. He thinks he can go out there and help in other ways.

This really isn’t that difficult. When you break what he did during the season it takes time. Combine it with his back and they just needed to shut him down with the hope that with time off he can get back to his November form. If he doesn’t they used this time to resolve their rotations.

Koby will still evaluate any trades and the merit of one simultaneous.

Why did you have to bring Occam's Razor to this thread?

Everyone writing off Kevin has a very short memory. Wasn't Kevin finished before last season's 6MOY qualifying run? Have they forgotten how devastating his shot is when healthy?

Kevin could come off the bench in a playoff game and hit 20 in 24 minutes. I'm assuming he's been told to rest and be ready in Late March.

This dude could seriously drop 25 & 17 in a playoff game in like 6 weeks…

He can’t defend a traffic cone, but still….

Maybe it's just me, but it seems obvious he's not playing because of the trade deadline. Make sure he doesn't get hurt and it keeps his value slightly higher. Plus the schedule has been easy enough not to worry about it. And worst case he's healthy afterwards.

Even if he is expected to get healthier, I don't know that we miss him if we trade him for any sort of shooter, now that we have Wade back.

Pipe dream, but with Lue in LAC, Kennard+RoCo for Love+Neto+2nds I think could arguably help both teams.

It’s certainly possible, large expiring contracts still have value, but we haven’t heard any rumblings about where he would go or who we’d end up with. It would be significant money moving around. You’d think there would be rumors.

Still a no for me. Hayward is just about as unplayable as Love. Okoro at this point may be a better 3pt shooter. Washington is a tweener. Maybe a back up center and help at power forward. Just don't really see how this upgrades the team. I think better options elsewhere

Question, if we let the contracts for Love, and Le Vert expire would we have 40 million to spend at free agency?
