I’ve seen this expressed by a lot of MIA fans looking on the outside in, but interesting to hear it first hand. I think some of us (including myself) may have downplayed the effect Love had on the locker room and the mental hurdle it likely created for our young guys when we couldn’t keep him around.

"...gets pulled from a rotation in the middle of a series and his immediate reaction is uplifting the guy that's replacing him"

Hard to reconcile that with the same guy who asked for his release with 6 weeks left on a 4 year deal after being pulled from the rotation as the franchise he won a title with is finally headed back to the playoffs.

There’s something in the water in Miami. The way that they always seem to get everyone bought in is scary. I remember them stamping out half of LeBron’s shenanigans in his first year down there when it kept building for 7 years in Cleveland. They truly do command respect and buy in from everyone and it starts with Riley at the top.

10 rebounds in 22 minutes.

That would have been helpful to the team that paid him $120 million over the past four years vs the Knicks.

His rebounding has been exceptional all this postseason. I would say his boxing out has been ever better, and he hasn't been slacking to pick up the easy boards, real consistent effort to box out and secure the team rebound. That was what the Cavs missed against the Knicks, no-one on the roster who has that fundamental base and old man strength that Kev does.

I just think it boils down to the communication skills of our front office and coaching staff. I'm not sure we have anyone that can have a hard conversation with a player and smooth it over. Maybe they just avoid the hard conversations and it rubs everyone the wrong way.

More like avoid all meaningful conversations.

He didn’t know how to break into JBB’s regular season rotation. Coach “had to shorten his bench.”

What a nitwit.

I still can't believe JBB survived that blunder.

This is also why so many coaches continue to play old vets regardless of how many fans scream to see the young talent on the floor.

Or there is something in the water here.

Different coach and different GM.
