i'm starting to think garland is a beilein pick... i think altman picks are hardworking, aggressive guys. garland is so laid back, he'll be a perfect fit for the globetrotters.

He was a Beilein pick. because JB wanted to run a two PG offense like he's done his entire career.

then the other point guard should be 6'4 or taller... sheesh...

Beeline is one area where the rebuild flew off the tracks. Like many of all team rebuilds, the plan will have to be adjusted. Altman's firing would not surprise me either.

It's amazing that the peek on this rebuild may also be the drop to it's demise all in one moment:
Altman picks up Allen (and Prince) for magic beans. Roster seems to start making sense with KPJR's eminent return and Drummond's eminent departure. Then boom: Prince (unwittingly) and KP in locker-gate, soup thrown (a very Cavaliers locker room problem, may need to re-think soup policy in offseason).
Then the injuries pile on and well, now it looks like you need a PG & a SG or a SF.

I've never heard a single bad thing about Garland's work ethic.

Regardless, it seems a little arbitrary to place "blame/credit" on different people for pick based solely on our pre-existing feelings regarding each party.

Yeah, he might have been an altman pick. Still not a hardworker (not hearing any bad means he is just so so) and certainly not aggressive.

I have theory's on Altman v Gilbert in terms of Cavs moves:
KI trade: Gilbert
Nance/JC/Hood/Hill trades: Altman
Sexton: Gilbert (Vardon kind of confirmed this one)
Beilien: Gilbert
JBB: Altman
Drummond: Gilbert
Garland: Altman
KPjr/Windler: Altman
Okoro: Altman
Allen/Prince: Altman

Now, I don't have anything but how I read these guys, but it does make sense that the Cavs have two competing voices on personnel decisions on a team that seems put together with mismatched parts.

Why everyone still trying to push the John B on Gilbert when he said he had nothing to do with the hire? That’s on Altman. Unless there was an article stating otherwise? I remember the press conference where Gilbert said he didn’t even meet John B until Altman brought him in.

It just seems to fit Gilbert's MO v the Cavs stated wants for a coach at the time (young coach, player development guy, G-League experience possibly). Gilbert likes splashy "win the presser" moves. I do remember the articles showing how it was worked by Cavs scouts/department people who had connections to Beilien.. maybe so.
Gilbert also said he was sitting at home watching the Price is Right when people tracked his plane to Miami to meet with LeBron. He also said he would build out a new casino on land that over saw the river in back of the terminal tower once us voters agreed to write it into law that he gets to make money off Clevelanders gambling issues.
Just saying, Dan and the Beilien hire is a very Dan Gilbert move. Even if it wasn't him that time.
