Since revamping his swing Urshela has slashed 314/355/534/889 in 2019 and 298/368/490/858 in 2020. I can't speak for the Yankees, but if I ran that franchise there's no way in hell that I'm trading a GG caliber 3B that hits like that. I doubt I would trade Urshela straight up for Lindor when you factor in cost and control. If the Yankees would do that then I would be all in, but you sure as hell ain't getting anything else in return. They would trade Torres and another piece for Lindor before they would give up Urshela I suspect. God Bless Andy Martino, but he's lost his marbles if he thinks that will happen.

I don't believe that Ramirez will be moved off of 3B. It just doesn't make sense with the current roster make up.
Since I agree with you on this, it must be true since we never seem to agree lol

Torres has 187 innings at 3B in the minors, nothing in the majors. He actually isn't even great at 2B but not horrible there like he is at SS. DJ is a very good (Gold glove caliber) at 2B, while Urshela a Gold glove caliber 3B. Putting Lindor in that INF, would be very good for the Yankees on paper.

Now on the flip side, Torres is 23, DJ is 32 and Urshela just hit 29. DJ is a free agent, while Urshela has three years of team control. DJ is a better short term 2B than Torres, but Torres has a good 8-9 years left in his prime plus a good bat. Just where to play him will be the Yankees issue.

They say the truth lies somewhere in the middle. LOL!

Yeah, I don't know what they are going to do with any of Torres, Frazier, and Andujar should they acquire a better defensive SS.

In my mind, Andujar can go, he 100% has no place on the roster in 21, so a package around him i am thinking for an SS at least from the Yankees perspective

Does Frazier have a place with Stanton and Judge? He'd basically be waiting for an injury and I don't think the Yankees fan base and Clint are fond of each other.

You can take this for what it's worth, but I've read that Frazier's defense is back to where it was prior to the concussion. If that is the case then he is actually a decent defensive corner OF. He has a strong arm and remember that he was drafted as a CF so he has some range.

I've also read that when Andujar was approached about playing LF that he had already started working on it prior to being asked. "To Boone’s surprise, Andújar was not only receptive to the idea, but he had already been taking occasional fly balls. Andújar progressed enough in the spring to convince the Yankees that he will be a capable corner outfielder, in addition to his ongoing development at third base and first base."

Both Frazier and Andujar's bats would be welcome additions. Trying to imagine how the pieces will fit on this roster is an entirely different debacle. I mean what are their plans and hopes for Bauers, Zimmer, Mercado, Johnson, Luplow, Naylor, DeShields, and Naquin? For S&G's let's say that they don't offer Naquin and DeShields contracts, and they send Zimmer packing. We'll assume that Naylor is the 1B too. That leaves Bauers, Mercado, Luplow, and Johnson. When you throw Reyes in there it does make a little sense. They could go with Bauers in LF, Mercado in CF, and Johnson in RF. They can protect both Bauers and Johnson from tough LHP with Luplow and Reyes. Johnson can spell Mercado in CF. Defensively, an OF consisting of Luplow, Mercado, and Johnson is outstanding. Conversely, one of Bauers, Mercado, Reyes is questionable at best. Bradley's ability to make the roster depends on all of these OF too. FFS the more I contemplate how the roster will look the more confused and uncertain I get. I didn't even mention Jones. See what I mean!

Now I can't help but to think that a Lindor trade with the focus of bringing in a young C that can hit would be a better path. If that is the case then the Reds make even more sense. A package centered around Stephenson could be plausible. Could Stephenson and Senzel be a better way to go? Senzel has upside and positional flexibility that allow him to play 3B, 2B, and OF.

Ok, we're throwing in the towel, cuttin' payroll and trading expensive players:
Lindor to the Reds for Stephenson and Senzel
Ramirez and Carrasco to the Phillies for Bohm, Hoskins, Howard, and Miller

So after the smoke clears and these trades have been made we'll have:
SP- Bieber, Plesac, Quantrill, Howard, Civale, McKenzie, Allen, Moss
BP- Karinchak, Clase, Wittgren, Maton, Hill, Nelson, Hentges
C- Stephenson, Hedges/Perez
1B- Hoskins, Naylor, Bauers
2B- Senzel, Miller
3B- Bohm, Senzel
SS- Chang, Freeman
LF- Naylor, Bauers, Luplow
CF- Mercado, Senzel, Johnson
RF- Johnson, Reyes, Luplow

This shit is unrealistic and funny, but I would actually be excited about that line up. LOL!

I was going to suggest that I at least get creativity points, but there's not a f'n lead off hitter in the bunch.

Brantley didn't want to be here.
Disagree with this...

When Brantley returned for the All Star game... the one with Bieber as the MVP.. the fans not just warmly, but, strongly cheered his return.. a return that was met with a hat tip of appreciation..

He did want to be here.

If the Dodgers don't make the Series, they will probably shake up a few things.
To LA: Lindor and if they want us to sign & trade Hand do it
To CLE: Rios/Lux/Beatty Or if they don't want to give up Lux
To CLE: Rios/DJ Peters/McKinstry/Ruiz

1B Rios 2B Lux SS ? 3B Jose C Perez LF Beatty CF Mercado RF Naylor
1B Rios 2B McKinstry SS ? 3B Jose C Ruiz/Perez LF Naylor CF DJ Peters RF Naquin/Luplow
If Chang can't handle SS - would love to sign a defensive specialist - SImmons?

Only with an overpay contract, IMO.

It was before ya'll migrated over here from your other board, but we had a couple different insiders essentially say that Brantley wasn't very interested in returning to the Indians. He and his camp, IIRC, weren't thrilled with how his injuries were handled especially.

I don't think a hat tip to a standing ovation says much about a player wanting or not wanting to return to an organization. That relationship and the one with the fans are very different from one another.

He is well liked and whatnot in Cleveland, its just he had an issue with the FO, so he moved on. I dont think he will be back in Cleveland unless its to retire in a sense.

Just looking at the Astros roster.. they'll have Yordan Alvarez returning from knee surgery. So, unless the Stros want two DH's.. then they will move on from the vastly more expensive Brantley to Yordan. Add in Reddick, Tucker and Springer to go with Jones, McCormick and Dawson.. and others... & the Stros won't want Dr. Smooth back at $ 16 MM AAV. A more modest one year deal is likely.. a salary value, I'm certain, the Tribe will be more than able to spend...

...either on a guy like Brantley (who they KNOW will produce) or someone else as part of a trade..

We'll see...

I would love to share this optimism but pretty convinced they won't spend more than maybe 5 or 6 million on a Cesar Hernandez type.

I wouldn't write "certain" and "salary . . . Tribe will be more than able to spend" in the same sentence, especially under the current unique circumstances.
