Manti T'eo's dead girlfriend is a hoax

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Seen it other places but figures I would link the article that shows that things just aren't adding up:
http://articles.southbendtribune.com/2012-10-12/sports/34419536_1_brian-and-ottilia-manti-te-o-irish-head-coach

Here are the damning parts of the article:
Lennay Kekua was a Stanford student and Cardinal football fan when the two exchanged glances, handshakes and phone numbers that fateful weekend three seasons ago.

and

"They started out as just friends," Brian Te'o said. "Every once in a while, she would travel to Hawaii, and that happened to be the time Manti was home, so he would meet with her there. But within the last year, they became a couple.

Reagan Mauia, an Arizona Cardinals fullback, said he believes Kekua existed because he met her in person when he and other Polynesian teammates and Pittsburgh Steelers star Troy Polamalu went to do charity work in American Samoa in June 2011.
"This was before her and Manti," Mauia said Wednesday evening. "I don't think Manti was even in the picture, but she and I became good friends. We would talk off and on, just checking up on each other kind of thing. I am close to her family. When she was going through the loss of her father, I was -- I offered a comforting shoulder and just someone to bounce her emotions off. That was just from meeting her in Samoa."
Mauia said Tuiasosopo -- whom Mauia believes is Kekua's cousin -- introduced the two. After the initial meeting, Mauia said he met her at an "after-party" for all of the athletes involved in the camp.
"She was tall," he said. "Volleyball-type of physique. She was athletic, tall, beautiful. Long hair. Polynesian. She looked like a model ... "
He said it is his understanding that Kekua's mother is operating her Twitter account. He said he'd never met her mother. When told by a reporter that she apparently might not have existed, Mauia said "No, she is real."

what the fuck?

Who cares, why does the media get involved in athlete's personal lives

This story destroys any sort of strong character or integrity this young man has if he made this story and character up. I mean he faked someone's death through cancer if he was involved with this scheme. That's pretty damn cold. Even if he honestly didn't know this "girl" I find it hard to believe that he could have a long-term relationship with a girl he never physically met in person and it would never cross his mind that this person is fake?

Maybe Dog the Bounty Hunter was looking for her so she had to go in hiding.

If his NC game was any indication of how his pro career will play out, I seriously doubt it.

Bama's offensive line makes a lot of LBs look average.

Was there a random girl Te'o and all these met who was introduced to them all as Lennay, but was someone else? I don't understand how all these people can see they saw her. AND newspapers saying she was flown out to see him, etc. What the fuck.

I'm not a Notre Dame fan, and even consider myself a Notre Dame hater... but I really don't think he concocted this story. I think he is incredibly naive and should be embarrassed that he fell for something like that, but I don't think he's guilty of any wrongdoing.

Either he is an extremely screwed up person who deserves an Oscar... or he's got a screwed up, jealous, former friend who has it out for him because the friend (Tuiasosopo) comes from a family littered with pro athletes, but couldn't cut it himself. The latter just makes a lot more sense to me.

I just want to know what Brent Musburger thinks of his hot fake dead girlfriend.
