Minor League Game Thread 5/1-5/7

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah it is... They aren't even listening to offers for Gimenez. He just signed an extension with the team, he showed loyalty to them, trading Gimenez now, would forever stop anyone from getting an extension with Cleveland ever again.

You can post all the Gimenez trades you want in the GM thread, I promise I won't comment, but just know, they will never happen...
I bet they are listening to offers on Gimenez, but that doesn't mean they'll accept any of them.

Let's use some sound reasoning here. If you're a young team loaded with MIF talent and you also have a fantastic, GG winning 2B freshly signed to an extension why wouldn't you listen to offers? You can say the chances of a team offering enough to get Chernoff to bite are next to nil and I'd be on your side, but to say "they aren't even listening to offers" is pretty much BS and you know it. What you don't know is what you're claiming to know and shutting down a conversation(even if unrealistic) based on your best guess is poor form IMO.

What is a realistic return for Rosario while we are on the subject of trading players?
What would you give for him if you were running a team that needed a SS?

since he has had success in the past some type of prospect that has a chance to develop into a big leaguer .

To be honest, we wouldn't get much for Rosario... They didn't get an offer worthwhile hence why he is still in Cleveland...

A couple of starting pitchers going today who haven't pitched in a full season affiliate game in years, since 2019 to be exact.

Zach Plesac takes the mound for the Columbus Clippers and more excitedly...

Ethan Hankins makes his return, starting for the Lake County Captains.

Interesting line-up for Columbus with moving Noel to first for the first time this year and Pries to the OF (had a few games there). Even though Tito said he has to play the players he has, are more changes coming? Didn't believe it the other day with Freeman playing 3rd (as Fry moved up) but there maybe looking for guys with flexibility and Noel hits LHP well (RHP is a different story).

@petes999
I put very little stock in the lineup setup today since its a doubleheader & CLE called up Freeman today (sending down Oscar)..
Let's see where guys are playing in GM 2 & then tomorrow.

I was thinking that as they were starting to move around players earlier this week like Freeman to 3rd and Palacios to RF. Yet, of the 3 players moving around Pries (usually 1st now LF), Noel (usually RF now 1B) and Palacios (usually LF with some CF this year due to roster issues and now RF for 2nd straight game). Thus, it is not just due to Freeman up and Oscar down.

Now, Noel had played 1B last year when called up to AAA but has been strictly RF this year (except 3B for Rocchio/Freeman earlier call-up). But, guys are starting to move around.

Hankins day is done.. 36 pitches 20 strikes.

Welcome back.

Looked okay ... one hit that scored 2 was a little flare just off Valdes glove at 3rd. But, a few 3-0 counts. Looked like he was overthrowing FB at times (leaving it just high and then yanking 1 or 2 wide). But, he is back now and it was a weird start as he was ready and the ump at 1st went to OF for a few minutes where the LC manager came out to talk (so delayed his start where he looked good in warm-ups but struggled a bit to start)

Akron badly needs a change in their lineup... I think it's time to do an organizational shuffle...

Huge game for Zach Plesac.. front half of the Double Header.. complete game W... 1 run allowed.. No sulking there..
