Minor league game thread 7/2 - 7/9/2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Delauter's swing looks a lot like Josh Bell's....cricket/golf like swing. Looks ugly, but it works

It depends on promotions but if he is, it would only be for a week or two...
Let's see how the 2nd half goes for each club (along with Chase)...
Getting more game action & playoff opportunity is the key.

If Chase is doing well but LC has no playoff possibilities while Akron is fighting for a playoff spot... Move him up.

If Chase is doing well & LC is in a playoff hunt while Akron is going no where with no playoff chance... Leave Chase in High A.
Let's be clear it makes no sense to move him up for a couple of weeks to end his year while staying put would get him more playing time..

With how much time he has missed so far this season, whoever has the playoffs, put him there. I agree with your logic!

DeLauter ends the day (7/9/23) going 4 for 4 with 3 doubles and his first stolen base as a LC Captain. Somehow ended up with only 1 run and 0 rbis on the day, but clearly he delautered. I mean delivered.

What you say is true but not sure I want them in charge of trading prospect. Yanier Diaz had a big bat in minors and has 10 homers for Astros in less than 50 games. The outright give away of Caminero is a crusher. They should be embarrassed. He would be our top position prospect with huge upside.
Its a crusher for sure, but the only thing I have to ask is if Tampa made some type of adjustment with Caminero's swing that our staff wouldnt have done? Whatever the issue is, the lack of power hitters developed has to be addressed. All of these slap hitters barely hitting .250 with guys like Yandy, Yainer, Benson, Caminero showing crazy power upside elsewhere.

The most impressive part was that he hit those 3 doubles off of three different pitchers

As long as his foot heals correctly long term, he should be someone you can place in the OF in a few seasons...

Micah Pries has had a 13 game hitting streak and since July started he is hitting .455/.486/1.030 so he's had a 1.516 OPS in the last 8 games...

Caminero had power right off with the G's. 9 hr in some 40 games with ops in the 900's. Not aware of a young player doing that well for Clevland.
