Minor League Week 19 Games Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No, you were the one that mentioned JRam as a 19 yr old comparison.

I was talking about one thing...Noel's XBH out put at 19 yrs old. (Just turned 20)

But since you brought up Jose at 19 yrs old, he is the poster boy for what I have insisted for several years.

A young, very good contact hitter that doesn't strike out has the batting foundation to develop power later....and I want a dozen of them in our system.

Which is exactly what we have.

Whatever you say...

Sry Mad for the hijack - i'm just gonna ignore this guy from now on.

Everyone thinks they’re the smartest person on this site.

Everyone but me is wrong.

Lol!

Rare early game for the LC Captains today

Up 1-0 in the 6th on Christian Cairo's 2nd High-A homer. He is playing better in A+ - small sample size disclaimer.

Noel with a double and a K.

Tanner Burns turned in a fine game as well - 5.0IP 4H 0ER/R 1BB 4K on 73 pitches 49 strikes

RHP Jerson Ramirez placed on IL at Lake County (Elbow) - uh oh.. Hope for best. Wonder if this does anything to his odds regarding the Rule 5. Could be a legitimate 60-day IL guy which might be enticing to some team(s) out there.

Not to diminish Brayans ball whacking skills but a decent big league CFer catches that, let alone plays the carom so badly.
That's a super tough catch with how fast it got there and how high off the wall it was, but I'll give you it could have been played WAY better off the wall. I say that's a double at least 70% of the time.

Also that field would be tied for 16th with the Nationals at 402 with the wall to center and I'd say from going to game there it's a pretty high wall in comparison to other parks.

It certainly was "catchable" but it would be a highlight defensive play. base on the CFer's reaction once he turned back around he had no idea where the ball was, as he didn't accurately track it as he ran back.

Like you said that is a hit most of the time.

The embarrassing part was he never was going to catch it so he should have been able to read it off the wall better. Also the wall isn't as high as I thought but still would need a very nice timed jump, the wall is about 10 foot.

Espino gets bounced around tonight.

His line shows 0 ER, but he gave up seven hits in four innings.

4 IP...4 R...0 ER...7 H..0 BB...7 K...69 pitches.

Battenfield was cruising along thru 5.1, but then gave up two singles and a double.

He leaves after 87 pitches.

Final line...

5.1 IP...3 ER...7 H..1 BB...6 K

Cody Morris for Columbus has a rough go tonight but an error(s) not sure if 1 or 2 prevent them from counting as earned runs.

4IP 7H 0ER/4R 0BB 7K 69 pitches 50 strikes
