To be comparable, we would've given up something like:

• Lenny Torres
• Sam Hentges or Justin Garza?
• Two more lower-end pitching prospects

That's a lot to give up for a journeyman reliever having a career year. If you think 2022 Lopez is what you're going to get in 2023 and 2024, I do that trade in a heartbeat. I'm just not sold that you're going to get this Lopez moving forward.

Unless you are talking a top notch closer with a track record (Hand) or an alien destroyer (Miller), spending major assets on a reliever is very risky.

Neither Minnesota nor Chicago over extended themselves for their newly acquired relievers.

We should remember that many of the absolute greatest closers/relievers of all time were converted starters.

DBacks have stated he is available, plus he is gold glove 1B, so none of those problems of Miller anymore lol
