Isn't it?Personally I dont watch Star trek, I have seen every episode of the original series because my brother and dad are huge Star Trek fans.
That being said, its fine I dont watch Star Trek because I am not trying to write a series in the Star Trek universe, that is insane to me.
My other big issue... and not to drag into another, forbidden topic, but most know I am not a big conservative.
And I recognize that Star Trek has featured social justice and inclusion from the beginning. It was revolutionary in that regard as we all know.
But Alex Kurtzman and his 11 other co-executive producers have so ham-fistedly crammed social justice and inclusiveness into the new Trek that it is akin to using a 20 ton sledgehammer to drive in a 10 cent nail.
But that is the mark of bad, sloppy writing. It started with JJ Abrams and it continues unabated. Why write a good story, using well crafted metaphors, or a cohesive narrative seen by an objective audience, like they used to do (Let That be Your Last Battlefield, Far Beyond the Stars, Measure of a Man etc.,) when you can hit the viewers over the head repeatedly?
