New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To be honest the first two seasons are pretty slow.

In fact, you can probably watch Season 1 episode "Duet," Season 2's "Cardassians," Season 2's two-parter, "The Maquis," and then the final episode of Season Two "The Jem Hadar" and call it a day for Seasons 1 and 2.

But, from the first episode of Season 3, "The Search," through the end of the series, and only encounter 4-5 meh episodes.

Season 3 is a huge improvement over Seasons 1 and 2, and is the start of some pretty big, seasons spanning storylines.

What about Q-Less? That's next up for me now after I just watched Captive Pursuit (which I liked). I always liked Q in TNG

How does this guide to what to watch and skip (at least for the first two seasons)? It only adds a couple of season 1 episodes that say for continuity, but has several more season 2 episodes.

Q-Less is fine.

I would say their list for Seasons 1 and 2 are fine.

Seasons 3-7 are all mostly watchable. I would only skip 2-3 episodes per season in that span. Their list in Season 3-7 is telling you to skip some really good and important episodes. DS9 has huge story-arcs and bits and pieces of the greater puzzles are included in some of their episodes they say to skip.

Second Skin in Season 3 in particular is a huge episode for character building for Kira in general, but also very important for the Cardassian arc for Season 3-4 with the intrigues going on between the Obsidian Order, the Cardassian intelligence agency, and their military. It is very important with huge ramifications in the seasons to follow.

So I would say follow their list for Seasons 1-2, but then let me know and I can give you a few episodes you can skip in Season 3.

I'm surprised at some on the list, notably Second Skin and Our Man Bashir. Both of these have Garak and any episode with Garak is absolutely a necessary watch. Because it's Garak.

Our Man Bashir is such a great episode too.

It marks the beginning of Bashir as a cool character after a few seasons of not knowing what to do with the guy.

I watched Q-Less, was a kinda boring version of Q. My plan now is to watch Battle Lines, Duet and In the Hands of Prophets to get to season 2.

Please consider watching Move Along Home S1 E10... It's the good kind of bad.

I'm not sure if this exchange makes me less likely or more likely to watch it. :chuckle:

I'll set it to the side and come back to it after I've watched some of the better episodes. Maybe before starting season 3.

Avery Brooks considers it one/if not his worst experiences on DS9... If that helps...

Wow. Duet was great.

3 part start to season 2 was great.

And had this gem of Quark dividing profits with his brother :chuckle:
