How rare is a clause like this? Seems pretty telling that the team needed to put that in the contract. I'd also imagine that enforcing this piece would be extremely difficult.

It's interesting that you interpret it that way. What are your thoughts on the rest of the contractual language?

I don't think that the team feels the need to contractually enforce that Kyler isn't going to go murder people--but they're going to put it in writing if they can and it's agreeable to both parties.

To me, this sounds like something Kyler didn't mind having in the contract, so that's why it's there.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports Bengals unsigned franchise S Jessie Bates will not report to training camp Tuesday.​

This was expected, and it will be an official start to a holdout. The deadline for a long-term deal has already passed, so it's unclear what type of resolution Bates is wanting from the Bengals. We can only imagine he desires a trade, as he's already stated he won't play on the franchise tag. We'll see how long this thing drags out.
