Do we have an out with him next year? Regardless of his chemistry with baker, he hasn’t played 50% of his games the last few years (and even was battling injuries last year). I feel like his cap space could be utilized better.

Most of his money is guaranteed for next year, after that we can cut him and get out of his last 2 years, but he can come back and be healthy and have value. Trade him now, we have to give an asset, cut him and it all counts against us for 2021

Awesome but can't even put weight on the injured knee.....

Eh.... I think it’s part of his drill. I’ve seen workout videos of him balancing on a stability ball with one foot while catching passes like this. I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Most interesting part of this article is that the Giants TE coach is none other than...

...Freddie Kitchens.

I did not know that.

Really looks like the Browns didn't win the OBJ trade.

Seems clear that Zeitler, Peppers, and Dexter Lawrence have contributed more than Vernon & Beckham since the trade.

Hard to see Vernon & Beckham suddenly turning that around because it's hard to imagine that Vernon & Beckham will still be in Cleveland in 2022.

actually @Lee broke this down recently, it would not at all be shocking if OBJ is in cleveland through the end of his contract. Unless the Browns just decide they need the money. By 2022 OBJ will no longer be paid as a top 15 WR (hell maybe top 20 by that point), and its basically a year to year contract with no dead money attached.

but regardless, the giants absolutely won that trade

Trades are hard to judge in the NFL on just the personal you got. I agree NY won the trade, but that is because we could use Peppers more than OBJ at this point. We got Teller as a free agent and wouldn't have him if not for the trade, so you almost need to include him in the trade. We drafted Delpit to replace Peppers but that hasn't worked out yet plus we needed to sue a 2nd round pick.

Personally OBJ could be gone after next year where because of his injury his contract is mainly guaranteed. I wouldn't have said this before this year, but I rather use his money to sign Chubb and Teller long term. The way Baker is slinging it and our younger receivers have been working, tight end and running back is maybe more important in this offense. This also means signing Higgins long-term to a reasonable contract and bringing back Hodge to go with a developing DPJ.

The New York press talk about that because the Giants are 5-8 and getting their asses handed to them this year.

Talking about the OBJ trade is the equivalent of talking to a 5'2 fat dude with a New York accent who pretends he is loosely affiliated with the mafia.

No bro, you ain't fooling anybody.

OBJ got injured. It is equally likely that a knee injury could have happened to anybody the Browns traded away. That's sports.

See you in the playof... Oh, nevermind New York! Didn't mean to offend you!

I'd say that OBJ's catastrophic injury in New York was a bigger issue than the injuries here.
