Trades are hard to judge in the NFL on just the personal you got. I agree NY won the trade, but that is because we could use Peppers more than OBJ at this point. We got Teller as a free agent and wouldn't have him if not for the trade, so you almost need to include him in the trade.

We got Teller in a trade with the Bills, not as a free agent. And I think we'd have done that deal anyway simply because you always acquire good OL cheaply if you can.

I personally didn't like the OBJ deal even at the time.
When you're a rebuilding team, trading two starters plus a first round draft pick for a WR isn't smart.

A stud Olineman and a Safety who even if he isn't a perfect fit for the Defense is still very athletic and can be a hybrid type player in different sets

I didnt like the trade either, felt we gave up to much for a top paid WR, i believed in his tallent, but too much money with Landry in the WR room. And i liked Peppers, thought he was coming along....and Zietler too.

Why are folks trying to hard to find *something* to be upset at him for?

Unfortunately it’s not that hard for me.

I just think Odell is a self-absorbed loser. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Add in that the Browns/Baker are seemingly better without him...and I hope this thread becomes irrelevant as soon as possible with his departure.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Odell was rooting against the Browns tbh. All the talking heads are talking about how much better the Browns are without him. He doesn’t strike me as the type of guy who would root for team success at his own image’s expense.

I personally don't agree that OBJ would be actively cheering against the Browns. Remember that Jarvis Landry is truly one of his best friends.

I don't think he approaches the game as a "rah rah, team-first" type. However, I think sports fans would be surprised to learn most professional athletes are the same way. And I get it, after your teammates who you liked were cut or traded, I can see why you begin to cheer for individuals you connected with over a color on a jersey.

It is part of the job of professional athletes to make fans believe they put the city and the team first... that's how you sell the Nikes and X-Boxes and lock in endorsement money... but he is paid to catch the ball, not work in PR for the franchise.

OBJ has a lot of pride and can't do the thing he spends most of his time perfecting. If he doesn't want to talk about it right now, let him handle his mental health while he heals his knee.

I wonder how shitty of a person I must be for not using social media... my wife must think I'm rooting against our family because I haven't posted on Facebook in 10 years.

I get and appreciate the sarcasm here...but just to clarify: Odell is very much using social media. The content just mostly seems to consist of him flexing and looking at himself in the mirror.

Seems more like the social media account of a NFL free agent (actually more like a celebrity influencer) than the account of a core, proud member of our organization.

Again, he’s not required to post about or openly support the Browns/his teammates/his BFF. And likewise, I’m not required to like the guy. To each their own.

It's a good distinction. I don't like OBJ. I don't really like or dislike most athletes. But, I also am not going to think less of him because he isn't putting out fake ra-ra cheerleader shit on social media.

By all accounts, he's a guy who puts in the work and is a great teammate. That's good enough for me.

There are grown men in here making assumptions about another man they haven't because of what he is, or isn't, publishing on his personal social media account. Yall don't think that's weird?

Do yall remember when Lena Dunham went on a rant because Odell *didnt* hit on her at some event? Thats what some of yall sound like.

He's rehabbing an injury. His teammates are engaged with him. He's engaged with them. Stefanski and Berry aren't concerned about him. Why are we doing this fruitless exercise of psychoanalysis?

I don't find it that weird. All the other injured Browns post in support of their team/teammates. Even Grant Delpit who probably doesn't even know half these guys' names considering when he had his season ender. I think it's a valid observation about a guy who has historically left questions about his dedication/interest in playing for this franchise.

As a "grown man", I absolutely do not remember whatever this is in reference to... :chuckle:

Psychoanalysis? I think you're overstating a bit. I scroll through social media. Other Browns players post about the Browns. Odell does not post about the Browns. I already do not like the guy and his vibe. So I comment on a message board disappointed that he's not showing team support like everyone else. Simple as that.

I don't think anyone really cares how I feel about Odell, nor should they. So I will now bow out of this discussion.

I really don't want this guy around our team next year. Baker is a completely different QB when he's not trying to force the ball to OBJ. We're talking top 5 QB without and bottom 5 with.

I checked his Instagram and the dude has posted like twice in December, so while he is using it, he's not using it much. Unless he added something new last night or today, his last IG post was two weeks ago.
