Can we talk about the more important aspect? Was it even a first down? The sideline view looked like he was short, even if he catches it. But everyone would potentially feel better if he caught it to turn it over on downs instead of dropping it.

He was at the line. It probably is a 1st down.

He was legitimately very good today so I'm not sure where this is all coming from...

Yeah he should have had the 4th down ball but that was not really an easy catch and he's playing his 3rd game in over a year +
He was a nice compliment to DPJ, but when Landry comes back, I wouldn't worry too much about keeping him off the field when we need a catch.

It wasn't, it looked half a yard short.

It looked like a 1st down.

I would have at least liked to be able to have this conversation but alas, the $14m receiver dropped it so I guess we’ll never know!

Beckham actually had a pretty decent day today. He made some tough catches, he returned after getting banged up.

But yeah, an elite receiver would make that 4th down grab. He needed to reach out and catch the ball in his hands in front of the defender. You do see receivers grab balls reaching around defenders who are draped across their chest with their arms flailing. This wouldn't have been much tougher than that if he would have reached forward. All these guys need to be thinking about catching the ball with their hands, in whatever open space there is available in that situation.

Because this thread, and likely the day, needs to be lightened a bit...I present, "the ball grabbing reach around.

That wasn’t a drop. It was a bang bang play if anything and a good play on the ball by the defender.

Hopkins had a drop on the sideline earlier too. he also caught two TD’s. He’s an elite receiver who had a drop today. Saying elite receivers don’t have drops is one thing but erasing the entire day that OBJ had over 1 single bang bang play seems more agenda driven to me.
