That wasn’t a drop. It was a bang bang play if anything and a good play on the ball by the defender.

Hopkins had a drop on the sideline earlier too. he also caught two TD’s. He’s an elite receiver who had a drop today. Saying elite receivers don’t have drops is one thing but erasing the entire day that OBJ had over 1 single bang bang play seems more agenda driven to me.
L-O-fucking L

This thread is...weird.

Yes, he dropped the pass. Yes, it would have been a 1st down:

Regardless, OBJ is a JAG.

It looks like it may have been on a completely clean catch. But would be helpful if my man wasn’t casually holding the down marker like a half eaten slim Jim. Would be a lot easier to tell.

Baker was hitting him fine this game. Think he missed one opportunity in one of the earlier drives.

When Baker does his job, it's up to OBJ to do his. Can't wait for Browns to draft or sign a replacement so this shit can be over

Baker missed him on back to back plays on the Browns second drive.

As the tv replays showed on 3rd and 5 from the ARI 15, Odell broke wide open. Baker looked directly at him, but instead decided to bail to the left, away from wide open Odell and scrambled for 2 yards.

The very next play on 4th and 3, OBJ is lined up on the left. ARI brought extra rushers which left Odell uncovered and completely wide open on the drag route to the middle of the field. Baker didn’t read the rush correctly, didn’t see Odell, and took the sack.

Arizona took the turnover on downs and marched directly down the field to go up 14-0. Game over.

When Odell gets blamed for not connecting with Baker, it’s plays like those that I simply am lost in trying to understand the reasoning on.

Just like you guys expect more from Baker than to just be a game manager, I expect more from OBJ than to be a possession receiver.

He wasn't brought in to catch 5 passes for 65 yards a week.

He was brought in to be a number 1, game breaking player.

When's the last time he caught a pass and then made two dudes miss and turned a routine 8 yard catch into a 50 yard TD?

Are people not allowed to expect those things on occasion from a guy making his money?

Yeah I don't understand everyone saying he had a great game. Not making this an OBJ vs Baker thing. He just...didn't do anything that special? Caught a lot of easy balls. Not even going to hold the "drop" against him as like someone else said it was a bang bang play.

I'm a guy who likes OBJ and wants him on the team. I think he had a decent game. But I've seen receivers make that kind of catch, not saying it's easy. Just reach out in front and and grab the ball with strong hands.

Edit: wrong thread.

Dwayne bowe and Kenny Britt are jealous of the way Odell is stealing money.

The entire day he had of 5 catches for 79 yards

no elite WR has lower standards of what good is than Odell

comparing him to a guy who caught 2 touchdowns. Odell doesn’t even have a single touchdown this year lol

well Baker has only thrown like 3 to WRs in 6 games and 2 of them were to the same person...

Go look at Hopkins numbers this year. That's elite? Plus Odell has missed 2 games. 5 for 79 is not a bad day. What the stats do not show you is Odell was open for multiple TD's this year where his QB missed him. A lot of yards left on the field.

The only people bringing up the elite argument are people who are finding reasons to hate on Odell. Stefon Diggs led the league in receiving last season. Are his numbers elite this year. He has 1 more TD than Odell and Odell doesn't have a TD this season.

Show me the elite WR's and then show me their QB's.

Who are the top WR's this year and do any of them have QB's worst than Baker right now?

Would Landry have made that catch? I gotta think yes. That's a bread and butter Landry catch.

Hopkins also has AJ Green, Rondale Moore, Maxx Williams(before injury, Ertz next week), Kirk, and Edmonds out of the backfield and is still putting up those numbers. OBJ should have more opportunities to put up bigger numbers, but whether that is him or Baker seems to be the biggest problem.

And that's part of my point. The Browns have weapons too but it's not like all of them except for Odell are clicking. No pass catcher is having a good season for us so far. None of them are exceeding expectations or even performing at an average level of play. They are all underperforming so my point to that is either all of our pass catchers suck this year or the QB play is holding all of them back.
