OSU at Texas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I would certainly not look past the Trojans.. Especially with those two wideouts..

If Notre Dame wants bitch slapped again by all means bring them on. I welcome an OSU vs ND National Championship.

Auburn has looked pretty good so far, i think ND is overated though.

You all are looking WAY too far into the future. The Big 10 is the Big 10, which means 10 tough teams and Illinois. Just because we played a mostly mistake free game on the road doesn't mean we will do that all season. It is so hard to do that, so we still have a ways to go. I would love to see OSU in the BCS NC, but we have to take it game by game if we are going to get there.

Agreed. We're clearly the top team in the conference, but that doesn't mean it's a given we run the table. Far from it. We're going to need a lucky break or two somewhere along the way. Every national champion always has them. If we don't get them, we drop a game or two. This is not the Big East, where Miami used to have a clear path to the BCS every year.

Having said that, I welcome another bowl game against ND. I don't see the results being any different than last year. We clearly out class them.

Eh, the Big Ten is extremely weak this year.

The only tough game left really is Michigan, maybe Iowa. The Big Ten is down down down this year.

We only gotta do one thing...Take it one at a time. That's it.

Roughing up the refs…and other irritating thoughts that just won’t go away. From where I was sitting at the Texas game, the bogus roughing-the-passer penalty against mean Jay Richardson for beating up poor little Colt McCoy was about as egregious of a call as I’ve seen in my many years of seeing the world through (admittedly) scarlet and gray glasses. But what do I know? (Insert joke here…). So, let’s hear what other people had to say.

The first quote is from a Texas fan off of a Texas blog and he says, “…I'm not sure what the refs could have possibly seen on the roughing the passer penalty. It wasn't late. If it was "helmet-to-helmet," that's even worse. Helmets touch at some point on nearly every tackle. Outside of Oklahoma, humans walk upright. Their heads generally touch at some point on a collision. It was actually great defense by Ohio State that gave Texas the ball 1st down near the goal line.”

The next two observations were printed in the Dallas Morning News. Observation One: "Texas would answer but only with the help of the officials...Ohio State's Jay Richardson was called for roughing the passer when it appeared Richardson did nothing but tackle McCoy as he released the pass."

Observation Two: "Texas spent more than seven minutes on its only touchdown. Got a little help in the red zone, too, when the Buckeyes' 6-6 Jay Richardson slammed into McCoy and apparently was flagged for being too tall." :chuckles:

I liked that – flagged for being too tall. The refs should be flagged and flogged; made worse by the fact that they were Big Ten officials…

It made the game interesting for one half of play.
