I think that's the point.. Hood cant be useful on an 8 win team. He has not shown any reason we should not move on..

This is part of the rebuild process. You pick up underplayed guys on the cheap, and give them enough playing time to earn a second round pick in a trade..

It is interesting to me we are focused on guards though.. Seems like half our roster.. Sexton, Delly, Clarkson, Hood, Nwaba, Burks,Jr....Somebody gets traded out of that bunch...

I highly doubt Sexton gets traded this quickly.

There are just more talented guards I think. Talented big men especially shooters are hard to come by. I think it says that Koby is fairly comfortable with the big rotation and not the guard one. I think I agree with him.

Hood and Burks need to go. Clarkson might deserve some more time with Delly. Nwaba can stay, and Blossomgame can be an end of the bench guy. We need 2s and 3s to tryout until we find guys that stick.

I read this earlier. As an organization and ownership, you can't be ticked off at situations like this if you decide to give 2nd round picks 2 year contracts. They wanted the flexibility when they initial signed him and this is the trade off.

If you don't want to lose young players bite the bullet and give them 3+1 contracts with a team option.

The warriors got the biggest break in salary probably in NBA history when the cap went up and they had all their stars on rookie contracts. They got Kevin Durant. If they are pissed about not wanting to eat luxury tax for McCaw, too bad.

It's small, but still a pretty sharp move by Koby. It's probably the kind of "it helps us a little but pisses you off more" move that Dan might like.

The best part of it is McCaw waited along enough that he couldn't be a trade chip for them. Basically the reason they didn't match the offer.

Koby structure the deal perfectly with most likely the help of his agent. McCaw had a way out of RFA if the warriors matched. He would have go in and cause hell for a week to get waive.

I think Hood and Burks both could be valuable bench players on playoff teams. Hopefully we can get picks or young players for them.

Doing favors for an agent is probably the only benefit the Cavs get out of this long term, but still it's the kind to deal that a last place team should make, so I'm glad they did it. I got my fingers crossed that the Cavs did this because they expect to move Hood & Burks soon, but maybe that's too much to hope for. I really don't expect them to be able to move Clarkson. Not even hoping for that right now.

Sounds like this guy really hated the GoldenState locker room and that it went beyond a money issue. Anyone want to guess who he hated?

Whether it’s a favor to an agent, an opportunistic pounce on a young guy in a weird spot or just the Cavs sticking it to the dubs... what’s not to like? Hey, maybe it’s all three.
But like it was mentioned about Blossomgame, hitting on these moves around the margins can go a long way during a rebuild.
The process looks sound here and that’s all you can really ask for at this point.

Curry had issues with him over the money thing, but why are you making me choose between Klay and Draymond, who have both become assholes with their recent success?

It is a signing with almost no downside. 3mil this year to be prorated. No guaranteed money next year. We have a youngster with skills and a lot of motivation. He and blossomgame are two good signings. Type of things we need to do
