Penn State AD Tim Curley faces charges (Paterno and PSU president are now out)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, did he ever sound guilty on that interview. His answer to, "are you sexually attracted to young boys?" Was beyond absurd.

I love how he had to ask "You said 'sexually' attracted?" As if he's attracted to young boys, just not sexually. And the part about how McQueary caught him and the boy rolling around on the floor of the shower... I mean seriously, even if what he said was true (which no one believes) he still deserves to go to jail for that.

Did they ever re-fill that DA position? If so, I think Bob Costas is qualified. First of all, Costas is already fantastic at what he does. Second of all, that grilling was as good and stone-faced as any cross-examination I've ever seen.

Sandusky's a monster, but so is Bob. Just a different kind of monster.

It's pretty creepy how into Jerry Sandusky b00bie has been. He's actually sent me a couple PM's asking me to donate to Sandusky's court fees via paypal. Anyone else getting these??

Max has suddenly turned into Damage 2.0 with his conspiracy theories. When he's not railing away against the OWS'ers, you know he's listening to Alex Jones.

The lawyer for accused pedophile and former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky reportedly impregnated a teenage girl more than a decade ago.

Joe Amendola, 63, was the attorney for Mary Iavasile’s emancipation petition from Sept. 3, 1996, which was filed just weeks before her 17th birthday, according to Centre County Courthouse documents obtained by iPad newspaper The Daily.

That’s approximately when Iavasile became pregnant with Amendola’s child, her mother, Janet Iavasile, told The Daily.

“At the time, I didn’t know the extent of the relationship,” said Janet.

Amendola seemed more like Mary’s “mentor,” she described the relationship between her teenage daughter and a man in his late 40s.

“She met him through the school district; she was interested in the law,” the mother said.

Amendola and Mary, who is now 32, later married in February 2003, according to court records.

They had a second child around that time but have since split up, Janet said, adding that she now has respect for Amendola.

“Joe is a very good father and has loved his two children very much, and that’s the most important thing for me right now,” she said.

Neither Amendola nor Mary Iavasile returned requests for comment.

Records show that the age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16 years old.

I put the donation in Max's name.

No worries.

BREAKING NEWS:

Sandusky fired his attorney late Tuesday evening and in turn has hired a 9 year old local boy to represent him in his impending trial. When questioned why he would choose a kid to represent him, he replied "Well, they've always been able to get me off in the past."

First good Sandusky joke I've heard yet.

As strange as it sounds, taking away the players' football program and scholarships doesn't punish the people who were responsible for this act. The NCAA, if they get involved, should keep the scholarships towards players completely out of the equation. This is a situation where the adults were grossly negligent but the players did nothing wrong. The adults responsible should be facing criminal and civil charges individually, and hopefully justice will be served.

How that previous post got so much rep, I have no fucking clue. I maintain the "death penalty" is retarded and I wholeheartedly agree with you, Randolph. Pursue criminal charges against the individuals responsible, please.

Too many people crying for blood and looking for an "example" to be set. Holster the guns, kiddos. Let's punish the people actually responsible, not an entire community just so you can set an "example."

Paterno Turns Home Over to Wife for $1

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Joe Paterno transferred full ownership of his house to his wife, Sue, for $1 in July, less than four months before a sexual abuse scandal engulfed his Penn State football program and the university.

Documents filed in Centre County, Pa., show that on July 21, Paterno’s house near campus was turned over to “Suzanne P. Paterno, trustee” for a dollar plus “love and affection.” The couple had previously held joint ownership of the house, which they bought in 1969 for $58,000.

According to documents filed with the county, the house’s fair-market value was listed at $594,484.40. Wick Sollers, a lawyer for Paterno, said in an e-mail that the Paternos had been engaged in a “multiyear estate planning program,” and the transfer “was simply one element of that plan.” He said it had nothing to do with the scandal.

Paterno, who was fired as the football coach at the university last week, has been judged harshly by many for failing to take more aggressive action when he learned of a suspected sexual assault of a child by one of his former top assistants.

Some legal experts, in trying to gauge the legal exposure of the university and its top officials to lawsuits brought by suspected victims of the assistant, Jerry Sandusky, have theorized that Paterno could be a target of civil actions. On Nov. 5, Sandusky, Penn State’s former defensive coordinator, was charged with 40 counts related to the reported sexual abuse of eight boys over 15 years. Paterno, 84, was among those called to give testimony before a grand jury during the investigation, which began in 2009.

Experts in estate planning and tax law, in interviews, cautioned that it would be hard to determine the Paternos’ motivation simply from the available documents. It appears the family house had been the subject of years of complex and confusing transactions.

Lawrence A. Frolik, a law professor at the University of Pittsburgh who specializes in elder law, said that he had “never heard” of a husband selling his share of a house for $1 to his spouse for tax or government assistance purposes.

“I can’t see any tax advantages,” Frolik said. “If someone told me that, my reaction would be, ‘Are they hoping to shield assets in case if there’s personal liability?’ ” He added, “It sounds like an attempt to avoid personal liability in having assets in his wife’s name.”

Two lawyers examined the available documents in recent days. Neither wanted to be identified because they were not directly involved in the case or the property transaction. One of the experts said it appeared to be an explicit effort to financially shield Joe Paterno. The other regarded the July transaction, at least on its face, as benign.

Last Wednesday, the university’s board of trustees fired Paterno and Graham B. Spanier, the university’s president.

In 2002, Mike McQueary, then a graduate assistant in the football program, told Paterno that he had seen Sandusky with a boy in the football building’s showers. How explicit McQueary was in describing what he saw is in dispute. But according to state prosecutors, Paterno testified under oath that McQueary had told him that he had seen Sandusky doing something of a sexual nature to a roughly 10-year-old boy.

Paterno did not report the incident to the police or encourage McQueary to make such a report. Instead, he passed along the allegation the next day to the university’s athletic department and one other senior administrator.

On the day he was fired last week, Paterno said he and his wife were praying for the victims, described the events as a tragedy and admitted that he wished he had done more in 2002.

“Coach Paterno wants to tell his side of the story and answer questions, and I am hopeful he will be able to do so down the road,” said Sollers, Paterno’s lawyer.

The lawyer whose name is attached to the latest matter involving the couple’s house is David C. Pohland of Cassidy, Kotjarapoglus & Pohland of Greensburg, Pa. Pohland did not return a telephone message on Tuesday. The maiden name of Sue Paterno, who is 13 years younger than her husband, is Pohland. It was uncertain if there was any relation between her and the lawyer.

HMMMMMMMMMMMM

Connect the dots. JoPa sold his crib for a $1??? This cover up will be astounding when all the details come out.

If JoPa and Sandusky live long enough to make it to the trial it will be an incredible event to watch...I'll be shocked if they both live that long.

Joe Pa's gift to his wife last summer is only slightly more impressive than "dick in a box." I think a gift wrapped box is actually worth more than $1.

This whole story is crazy. A rampid butt-fucking empire with its roots dug deep into the Penn State program, the mecca of Pennsylvania outside of Philly. You've got a disappearing DA and a judge letting Sandusky go on unsecured bond (who donated to the "program" Sandusky founded). I think the DA is probably in Ohio by now after he realized that the entire state of Pennsylvania was part of a rogue sodomizing young children cult.

From now on, I call them Hindbacker U.

Sounds like you've connected them all for us.

Who even needs the trial?

The above link is posted on the front page of CNN and is basically a video that shows how Penn State is exempt from public disclosure laws after the president of Penn STate lobbied for exemption in 2007 (I think).

So basically, we would have known who what when where and why weeks ago had these records been available to the public like literally everywhere else in the country. This just looks worse and worse.
