Round 3, Game 2 | Cavaliers vs. Magic | May 22, 2009 | 8:30PM (EST) TNT

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I went from standing there at the game with my hands on my head thinking I might not come back here this season. I can't believe it's over because of some Turkish bastard. And about a minute later I was jumping up and down screaming.... about 2 minutes later I had to sit down because I felt like I was going to pass out. Unreal. :chuckles:

I don't know what to think. The positive side of me says we dominated them again in the 1st quarter, if we can just keep that up we're good. The negative side of me is saying it took a miracle to beat them at home, we're ****ed on the road. Which will it be? I don't think anybody truly knows.

I'm not scared about playing on the road. We all know that they are not a consistent team and they are not dominant at home.

But goddammit Mo, you gotta hit some if you are taking 21 shots. :thumbdown

One celebratory drink later I come home to see that RCF crashed. I can understand why, there were so many emotions going into that game. My section (214) was filled with every person on the emotional spectrum. The Cleveland doom- sayer, the roided up yelling guy, the stat guy, the text queen, Joe Tait Jr., and the bored girlfriend. Despite all the personalities, every fan was on their feet for those final minutes and treating that time as the most important thing in the world. More on the aftermath in a second...

This is the Cavs' series, but we'll need some luck in our favor, following the defensive game plan, and no more miracle shots (I can't take it) to pull it out. We're very capable of winning on the road, but we can't forget our principles. As much as I was upset about losing the twenty point lead, this is what the Magic do (as evident in the Philly and Boston series), the true task is trying to weather that storm, and I'm hoping we can figure that out by Game 3.

I think Dr. Shakulu mentioned it but these refs were an absolute joke. The replays showed such lopsided calling there was a groan from the arena with every whistle. Ticky tack fouls, a bump foul to determine the game, and slights of hand were common. I'm usually the first to say "quit blaming the refs", but its hard to argue that some calls killed our momentum and put Orlando back in the game, almost giving them the win. It was disgusting. I thought they were more lax during the playoffs? Although, it was nice of them to let Mo's ball chuck slide (an obvious tech if there ever was one). We really need to keep a lead in Orlando if this is the kind of officiating we're to expect.

The shot. Speechless. The cheers erupted throughout the Q and it was deafening, moreso than any of my previous outings (and I've been to a lot of games believe me). There were "MVP" chants in the bathroom, outside the Q, back at Panini's, and even when I went to retrieve my car at the Hilton. Doesn't matter who you are, all of Cleveland was chanting after that instant classic three pointer. I'm still jittery from it (as if you can't tell with me typing at 4am).

Bring on Sunday. Let's keep the momentum rolling.

You're right JJ, I don't normally bark about the refs but if anyone can come out of this game claiming the league wants the Cavs in the finals, then I don't know what to tell you. You're either blind or a huge Cavs hater.

Wow.

what the hell came crashing down torwards the end? A snowflake?

Amazing ending, I still don't feel good about this series though

The refs have been a joke, some of these calls are ridiculous and definitely momentum killers.

As for winning the series, i have know doubt we can win it. When you are up as big as we were in both of these games you are obviously doing something right. Its just we need to keep that intensity up throughout the whole game and not just the 1st quarter. I think a lot of this is on Mike Brown. We need timely timeouts called to get our guys refocused, sometimes i feel like he takes too long to call a timeout when the Magic are going on one of their runs. And he needs to drill in these guys heads that we need to keep moving the ball and when Howard is not in there we have to attack the basket at all costs. We also gotta do better on these pick and rolls. They are killing us, Hedo is either getting an open lane to the hoop or driving and kicking it out to wide open shooters.

I know Orlando has to feel good even after that heart breaker last night, because they did what they needed to do in these first two games. When you think about it, as much as they could have been up 2-0, we could have also. We blew big leads which is really out of character for us. We are usually pretty good at building the lead or atleast somewhat maintaining it. If we go up big early in Orlando we must play like we are losing, just keep attacking. Also Mo is bound to come out of this slump, so you gotta feel good that even though he has been struggling miserably. We are still tied 1-1.....

Mo needs to get back to being efficiant like he has been all year and with Delonte guarding Hedo he isnt going to be an effective scorer, that's going to have to come from someone else. I think that person has to be Z. Z is going to have to be the 3rd leading scorer on our team. With his ability to hit the mid range shot at a consistant bases it will allow for either Dwight to have to play him farther away from the basket or allow Z to keep hitting that shot. The defense does need to tighten up but honestly there is only so much you can do when they are actually hitting those 3's. They are either making or missing those shots and so far they have been hitting them. Now there are things they must improve on to make the Magic work harder for shots but when they are hitting they are really hitting. Ben needs to be more of an effective defender when he is in the game so Z and AV can rest more so when they go in the game they are fresh and Joe Smith needs to start being effective also. If he can hit the mid range shot that opens up so much for us. Bascially if we can be efficiant and hit mid range shots adding in some 3's and play Cavs Defense the way we have all learned the Cavs can play i expect to win the series.

I tell you..I had my heart in my throat..I just sat there thinking...wecan't lose ..we can't lose...then BANG! BANG! BANG!!!!!!
MVP!!!!!!!!

Samuel 10:24 "Samuel said to all the people, 'You see him whom Yahweh has chosen, that there is none like him among all the people?' All the people shouted, and said, " Long live the king!"

That quote reminds me of a certain guy from Akron...

This reminds me of the time Damon Jones hit the game winner and everyone jumped on him. It just wasn't that dramatic.
