One celebratory drink later I come home to see that RCF crashed. I can understand why, there were so many emotions going into that game. My section (214) was filled with every person on the emotional spectrum. The Cleveland doom- sayer, the roided up yelling guy, the stat guy, the text queen, Joe Tait Jr., and the bored girlfriend. Despite all the personalities, every fan was on their feet for those final minutes and treating that time as the most important thing in the world. More on the aftermath in a second...
This is the Cavs' series, but we'll need some luck in our favor, following the defensive game plan, and no more miracle shots (I can't take it) to pull it out. We're very capable of winning on the road, but we can't forget our principles. As much as I was upset about losing the twenty point lead, this is what the Magic do (as evident in the Philly and Boston series), the true task is trying to weather that storm, and I'm hoping we can figure that out by Game 3.
I think Dr. Shakulu mentioned it but these refs were an absolute joke. The replays showed such lopsided calling there was a groan from the arena with every whistle. Ticky tack fouls, a bump foul to determine the game, and slights of hand were common. I'm usually the first to say "quit blaming the refs", but its hard to argue that some calls killed our momentum and put Orlando back in the game, almost giving them the win. It was disgusting. I thought they were more lax during the playoffs? Although, it was nice of them to let Mo's ball chuck slide (an obvious tech if there ever was one). We really need to keep a lead in Orlando if this is the kind of officiating we're to expect.
The shot. Speechless. The cheers erupted throughout the Q and it was deafening, moreso than any of my previous outings (and I've been to a lot of games believe me). There were "MVP" chants in the bathroom, outside the Q, back at Panini's, and even when I went to retrieve my car at the Hilton. Doesn't matter who you are, all of Cleveland was chanting after that instant classic three pointer. I'm still jittery from it (as if you can't tell with me typing at 4am).
Bring on Sunday. Let's keep the momentum rolling.
