The 2021 Cleveland Baseball Organization

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So the upper deck would have a walkable concourse in front of the seats that you could walk from one end to the other it sounds like.

Also, according to the guy who posted those concepts… Paul Dolan also calls those aberrations in right field “shipping containers” and that they will be fixed. Awesome to hear.

Not financially feasible; Target Field in downtown Minneapolis doesn’t have a retractable roof.
The static baseball dome "failed" in Minneapolis because people in general wanted to be outside as often as possible when the weather is decent (which can be rare enough during the year)..

If they had been able to afford/ install a retractable dome when building Target Field, they would have put one on that place.

BTW, having been to Target Field in late Sept 2013 (and sitting thru a rain delay that Sept afternoon) I can say 1st hand that the place is very nice rain or no rain..

Two thoughts..

1) There was no doubt that the Indians were staying in Cleveland, a new name not withstanding. The good news is that realistically, its a 25 year extension.

2) In re Nolan Jones..

As he has moved up thru the minors his production has trended down to the point that he is putting up basically league average production in a notorious hitters park....102 wRC+. His production level is down about 33% over what it has been.

In addition, his walk rate has trended down, his K rate has trended up, and his OBP, which has fluctuated between about .840 and .910 since he was 19, is a mundane .750.

His earlier success was driven in part by some ridiculous BABIPS, ranging between .350 and .460. This year it sits at .310.

Even squinting real hard, it is awfully difficult to make a case that he is anywhere close to MLB ready, let alone 'deserving' of a call up.

If you are looking for Columbus prospects that have trended up in production and are closing in on a deserved look in Cleveland, look at Gimenez and Arias.

I have also been there in September 2019. It’s a great ballpark and a great fan experience. Maybe in April, not so much.

Interesting. For a "new" ballpark I thought Target Field kind of sucks.

I will say this though - every seat looked like it would provide a quality/unobstructed view.

FYI, wRC+ is park adjusted so it doesn’t matter that Columbus is a hitters park.

I am giddy in anticipation of Gimenez playing SS in Cleveland. Move Amed to 2B? Trade him away? I do not care; just get him away from that position, please. (Do Not Not Not play him in the OF though.)

Was joking my man. Just having some fun due to the doomers (I don’t think any on this board) throwing wild speculation of them going to Nashville.

I heard the Indians were going to move to Toledo. But that might have been a false rumor.

Just put a retractable roof on the goddamn thing already.

Zero chance they add a roof, just not cost effective. Not sure you need one as much for baseball. The Browns should of had some type of covered stadium though, winters are insane and the winter lake winds make some games un playable.

Its ok, here in Pheonix we have a retractible roof and its one of the worst stadiums I have ever been in.

Chase field or whatever it's called these days is a pretty lousy stadium. Considering Coors field (a great ball park) was essentially built at the same time it is weird how "bad" Chase is.
