Call up Bo Naylor? Lol.

Oh I have thought about it, then we just need another Ramirez, as that is the most likely name.

DH Ramirez
3B Ramirez
CF Bradley
1B Bradley
SS Rosario
LF Rosario
RF Naylor
C Naylor

It appears we need a Ramirez at 2B?

That would be the toughest to fill.

That reminds me of the old joke.
What brother combination has the most home runs in major league history?

The argument for improving the team through trades is that the Indians are 6-5 against the White Sox, who have the best record in the A.L. However, the Tribe is 1-3 against the Yankees and Mariners.

Also, the White Sox have played the easiest schedule in baseball with the exception of the Twins so they may not be as good as their record. However, they will be getting Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert back at some point which will give them an awesome batting order.

The Indians will be getting Reyes, Plesac, Luplow, and Berto back and if Eddie and Cesar start hitting more like their normal selves the offense could be all right, especially if Jose gets going. McKenzie, Quantrill, and Mejia have all looked very encouraging in their last starts. It's possible we could have five strong starters going into the second half.

If we find solid starters for the #4 and #5 spots and if the hitting picks up a little I could see the front office going after a first baseman or outfielder like Mitch Haniger.
I did want them to improve the team via trade, but I'm willing to be patient when it comes to giving our own a shot. I'm glad to see Bauers gone and Bradley promoted. I hope he can take advantage of the opportunity. It's about time one of our prospects do. Should Bradley falter again then he can be sent down and a trade target established then.

While I thought another SP was a good idea, and still may be so, they(Tito) could roll with 2 piggyback starts made up of a combination of McKenzie, Hentges, Quantrill, and Mejia. Once Plesac returns it would look something like Bieber, Plesac, Civale, McKenzie/Quantrill, Hentges/Mejia. It would allow them to limit innings for those that need to be limited.

The OF is a bit of a cluster. What happens when Luplow returns? We basically have Eddie in LF, Naylor in RF, Zimmer in CF, an HRam playing all 3.

So basically I'm back to not knowing where a trade to improve even fits in.

No. It was the Aaron brothers, Hank and Tommie with 768.
Tommie contributed 13.

I knew that one, but its my type of silly trivia. I am not an expert, but i think general opinion is Hank was the better Aaron brother, but probably because Hank was an under rated fielder.

Ken Griffey Sr & Jr combined for 782 homeruns..
Would they be the best father/ son due or am I forgetting someone???

Not sure if joking because many hate Barry, but Barry and Bobby had 1094 i Believe Bobby had over 300 and Barry well, has the record tainted or not.

To make a trade in June for a productive bat, Antonetti and Chernoff would have to make an offer that could not refused...an offer so good that the team we traded with would be convinced that our offer couldn't be beaten by anything at the deadline....a massive overpay.

This is something the FO will not do, simply because it doesn't know where the team will stand in late July. A trade now could end up being a loss of talent for no good reason.

**********

We are 15-11 vs teams with winning records...including 6-5 vs the Chisox and 5-1 vs the Royals We have the best record in the division at 21-12....without hitting the ball or scoring many runs, or playing good defense.

The eventual return of Franmil will help the offense.

Installing Gimenez at short and Amed in center would solve much of the defensive woes. I expect to see most of this by the break.

No I had blissfully forgotten about Bonds..
Perhaps it was from being tired and about to hit the hay but I had forgotten about Bonds...

On a different note:
Kind of interesting that Moises Alou out homered his father & uncles combined (332 to 269)..

Vlad Guerrero and his Son, Vlad Guerrero Jr, They could be the best father-son duo on paper in history. Will need to keep an eye on that one....

Can we trade Bauers for JaCoby Jones of the Tigers? He was just DFA'd today...

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw that Jones had been DFAd, Coach.

Then I looked a little closer.

In his career, Jones has been worse than Bauers, which is hard to do. And this year he has been just as bad.

Plus, he will still earn $1.7 mil this season.

How about this one?

Prince Fielder 319 home runs, 1,028 RBI's, .283/.887
Cecil Fielder 319 home runs, 1,008 RBI's, .255/.827

What are the odds that a father and son would end up with the same number of home runs and come within 20 RBI's? They both played 12 years.

Vladimir Guerrero Sr had 449 home runs so I'm pretty sure the Guerreros will end up with more than the Fielders. The Bonds are in first place if you want to count Barry's steroid inflated totals.
