The Andre Drummond Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Drummond's free throw problem is getting out of control.

Including tonight he is now 7-31 from the line in his last 4 games. That just can't happen. No one can be that bad. He is making Shaq look like Rick Barry.

On the other hand, if he keeps playing like this he is going to start drawing references to Andre the Giant because he is a on a rebounding tear the likes of which I have never seen.

122 boards through 6 games. 122 points through 6 games.

Dude is averaging 20/20 right now, which is completely ridiculous to open a season.

Something has to be done about the free throws though, because it is the most inept display I have ever seen.

Drummond had an above average game tonight smh. That's the laziest 29/27/3 blocks game you'll ever see. Slowly modeling his game after Kevin Durant in terms of point production. Kid still gotta prove he's got a killer first step like Dion! Just needs to fix that free throw problem. Should just try underhand lol.

What's going on with the boards? Is he that good of a rebounder or does he have zero competition on the team?

I was right on the front lines with the Drummond stuff as well, but the time has passed. Move on. Anything Dion related in this thread is old and played out.

I still can't get past behind my teams drafting manlet buffoons instead of a potential star tower. Mind you everyone saw the potential but turned away because hurr durr he is "dumb". A tower may be a bust but he can still give you 8 rebounds and obstructing hands up in the air without even jumping at the least. Well so fucking what? What does a tweener forward (T.Rob for Sac) and a midget SG offer when they shit the bed? Probably a great game against 81 excruciating performances while telling yourself everything is gonna be alright and all they need is time. A time rotting off on the benches of another team, that is.

29-27 BTFO these bums. Good on you, Dre. Bravo!

Flirting with that 30/30... wow. His rebounding rate is Chamberlain-esque right now. Chamberlain's career high was in his rookie season where he averaged 20.9 RPG PER36. Drummond now averages 19.0RPG PER36. After this it's probably over 20 RPG PER36. It really wouldn't surprise me if Drummond grabs over 40 rebounds some game, if there's an overtime or two.

Drummond is becoming quite impressive. Small sample size, but through the first 5 games not only he's a plus defender, but also averages 20/20/2 with over 55% in FT%.
Sucks at free throws

No it's not. Go ask Tornicade lol. Just so you know, I started to mention Dion in this thread only after our dear pal Tornicade decided that Dion's "hot start" in his career coupled with Drummond's unimpressive rookie season warranted comparison and by ridiculing Drummond, that would justify the Dion pick. That muthaphucka wouldn't let this thread die in it's infancy and always bumped it when Drummond had a bad game. I'm only continuing that legacy. But don't worry, just wait a few days and he'll post some dumb ass shit in here lol.

This thread was founded on and is still fueled by pettiness. Kind of a shame, really.

Drummond is straight ballin' right now and I'm getting a little worried about facing the Pistons if our rebounding struggles last game is any indicator. Do we have even one player capable of keeping Dre of the boards? Moz? Maybe?? Drummond is way too fast for him, especially with Moz still playing himself back into shape. It'll be interesting to see how we approach containing him when we finally meet.

Spencer I have been critical of Irving, James, Love, Thompson etc. Ive never actually needed to be critical of Waiters since there was enough of that to go around.

doesnt mean they are bad players but there are parts of their game that needed addressed.

Drummond has been very fortunate the Pistons got SVG

That being said. SVG is allowing Drummond to work from the post and Drummond has improved in that area.

Has Drummond and the Pistons arrived?

not so sure about that its only been 7 games.

If you wanna talk about Drummond as a player thats one thing. If you wanna talk about Drummond shoulda been a Cav thats another.

That argument was null and void as soon as lebron came back and Love signed on.

None of those things potentially happen if Drummond gets drafted by the Cavs.

I get enough alternate timeline storlines from Star Trek and the Flash.. dont need to bring it to Basketball

Last 3 players with 3 20-20 games in first 6 games of season:
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Andre Drummond.

Damn lazy bastard. Good thing SVG altered his career trajectory. He was on his way to being a scrub after averaging 13/13 in his second year at the ripe old age of 20. Only the great SVG could have saved his career!

This is getting sad Spence, please stop so we're able to have a meaningful conversation on Drummond.

This part of the post has made this thread perfect.
