The Chubb-Hub Yardage Delivery Service

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We really miss this guy. Hunt is fun, shifty, and it’s clear why he led the league in rushing at one point, but he doesn’t have Chubb’s vision. I also think he takes a bit longer to warm-up.

Chubb is better by allot, but also Hunt is very, very good and having that incredible 1-2 punch at RB was part of what made the offense special. We will have Chubb back after the bye week hopefully.

Man the stiff arm wasn't even his most impressive move on the game.

He had a side step in the hole earlier in the 2nd half that was just....I don't know if any other RB in the league could have made that move other than maybe CMC.

He's the best pure runner in the league. I've watched a lot of Ezekiel Elliot being an OSU fan, and the gap between the two guys is pretty massive.

If he doesn't get hurt, Chubb is going to be really really good for a really long time. There's nothing he doesn't do. He has some of, if not the best vision in the league. He is the best jump cutter in the league. He has well above average power. And he doesn't get caught once he's in a foot race.

His one big weakness is he doesn't catch a lot of passes like some of the other top tier guys. That's it. Otherwise, there's not a RB I'd take over him right now.

I'll actually go ahead and take a bow on this one too. I talked with my buddy about who the Browns should draft and he was fully in the "Take Barkley at 1 camp." Now, I thought they should take a QB (Rosen..whoops) but then wanted them to take Chubb at 4. Luckily he fell to the 2nd round. But I was that confident in how good Chubb was. I have no earthly idea what in the fuck scouts were looking at when he fell so far.

I went through the depth charts and I came up with 20 teams that I think Kareem Hunt would undoubtedly start for.

ANd yet....the gap between Hunt and Chubb is massive. He's a whole tier above Hunt.

Nick Chubb is like a more shifty version of Prime Adrian Peterson. That's an all timer. Neither of them catch a lot of passes but they honestly don't have to.

I know exactly what play you are talking about. It was remarkable. That one move in particular, but he also made several other cuts on that run and managed to get about 10 yards just shifting around bodies. Just incredible.

Found the video. At the 23 second mark:

Chubb’s vision is amazing.

The move that blew my mind was actually last week - on the “step out at the 1” run -the DB had him at the line and was running parallel to him to make the tackle. Chubb did this little stutter step, froze the DB just long enough to burst around the edge, and sprinted up the sideline for the big gain.

How he was able to get around that DB without getting touched is still hard to comprehend.

I would literally stumble over myself and fall if I were trying to run that dynamically in pads.

For anyone questioning whether or not we should pay Nick Chubb, I will ask you this: do you want to be a winning football team? If so, there's no getting around paying Chubb. Unless things change with Baker or we find a better option at QB, the only way this team is winning football games is by riding Chubb and Hunt until the wheels fall off. If we need to cut money elsewhere so be it. We honestly might be a 4-6 or 3-7 team without him.

There are lots of ways to win without paying Nick Chubb. Most of the winning teams in the NFL are currently winning without paying Nick Chubb. In fact, every winning team in the history of the NFL did so without paying Nick Chubb.
