It's not the NBA--those outs and options don't really exist in the NFL, and Chubb wouldn't be signing a deal that only had two years guaranteed.

I look at every RB that's gotten a second contract, and it makes me pause. Zeke's only 25, doesn't have near the injury history of Chubb, was arguably a better player at the time of signing, and is already looking like a contract that destroys an organization's aspirations.

Its not the NBA, but in the NFL the guranteed money is your out, make it heavy guranteed in the first 2 years, so say 5 years 70 million with a 10 mill bonus and first 2 years guranteed so 34 mill total guranteed so cutting him in year 3 if he dips in production wouldnt kill us.

I imagine the Browns will begin extension talks with Chubb this offseason. But, giving him a big deal now would be very risky, especially since we still don't know what we're doing with Baker moving forward.

Probably gonna be another case where the Browns just pick up his option and continue to evaluate things.

Most NFL contracts these days are heavy on bonuses and have easy outs after two years. I think we can work something out with Chubb that's fair to both sides.

The NFL commissioned the data analysts to come up with this tool. Technically, yes, they are making up stats, but every stat had to be made up at some point. As long as the measurements and tools are legit, that stat is too.
